Tekken 6 - 2 PS3 vs 360 comparison galleries (Blur mode on vs Blur mode off)

Gameswire has uploaded two Tekken 6 screenshot comparison galleries, comparing the PS3 and 360 versions in the Blur mode on and Blur mode off settings.

The reason being that different techniques are used in the off setting, with the PS3 version using anti-aliasing and the Xbox 360 version using a higher internal resolution downsampled to mimic anti-aliasing effects.

So which versions is better? And in which mode? The result might not be quite what you're expecting...

We should all argue over which one is better... because there's obviously some massive difference between the two.

@ MEGATRON D

yeah i tottaly get what your saying soul calliber 4's graphics wher top notch at the time, but could they realy be better than tekken 6? gunna have to check for myself i think.

as for wether this games got better graphics on PS3 or 360, well if they actualy made use of the 7 core processors i think it would be more than slightly better on PS3, i got it for PS3 simply because im not willing to pay for live, and the fact they are still charging when the Wii and PS3 have free online is insulting to us gamers.

2.1 - Your reasons for going PS3 are far more political than mine...
The 360 controller sucks for fighters, is all the reasoning I need. DoA is the only fighter I have on 360 because, well... it's only on 360. I've been winging in SC4 and Tekken back and forth on my PS3, and SC4 just looks cleaner in every respect. Hmm.

heheh yeah now that you mention it DOA 4 was to put im simply crap controls wise, it felt to clunky and didnt respond well at all but still i love the DOA franchise so i kept on playing through, im still hoping for DOA 5 on PS3 even if its multiplat,

and nice! i figured as much i was just thinking back to Soul calibur 4 even though it was multiplat too, on the PS3 it was crisp and clear plus the particle effects wher amazing, its a shame i realy think they had to scale back Tekken 6 for the 360 this is why some multiplats just kill gaming.

seriously though, i don't really get what the problem is, it's a fighting game, with 2 fighters and all this scaling, low hd blah.

Sorry, it's a crap engine used on both 360 and PS3.

I think the game looks like crud. Awful textures.

Who really cares. Tekken 6 is a mess of a game. Another beloved franchise turned to garbage because of a port to the Xbox 360. Devil May Cry, Resisdent Evil, Grand Theft Auto, Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark and now this. And to make things worse we PS3 owners usually get the short end of the graphical stick. At this rate I have exceeedingly low expectations for Final Fantasy XIII and the next Metal Gear Solid.

4.1 - That is a fairly bleak outlook for some pretty high profile games my friend.
Metal Gear, no way. Final Fantasy, given the grand scope of the game, maybe. I doubt it but maybe.

If there were no 360 version those third-party games likely would not have been any different, or possibly even seen the light of day. Why? Because even though the PS3 has more storage capacity for content that content is expensive. So the product you see is due to the budget every bit as much as the platform. They had to go multiplatform to even be able to afford to develop them.

Get off the "Xbox 360 gimped my game" bandwagon. There's been absolutely no proof of that.

I found Tekken 6 to be rather dissapointing (I have the game btw) because:
1. You have to play online to increase your rank above 1st Dan and online is so laggy.

2. Menus are uninspired and too high up on the screen.

3. Costumes are so bloody expensive. It feels like it's Tekken 5 all over again.

4. Scenario campaign is not that good either.

Hope Namco will improve the netcode through a patch soon.

Well there was a huge shipping snafu for Dragon Age in America and most places still haven't received their PS3 versions. I suspect sometime next week we will start to see more comparisons.

This game isn't at the top of my list, but when I buy it I'll be getting the PS3 version, if only for the nostalgic value. I've always played Tekken on a PlayStation controller. Anything else would feel wrong.

Why are people arguing over this POS? This game looks ugly and dated on both consoles! Need i say Scenario Mode? There is no excuse to have something so broken and downright ugly in a game these days. What this site needed to do was a graphics comparison between this and Dark Resurrection so people could see just how little effort went into this game. Tekken 6 felt like day old bread with a fresh baked tag, thank you Namco Bandai for regressing the series down to a laughable level...bastards...

Seriously I have to agree here. This has been covered soooo much on N4G over the past two weeks it is retarded.

To sum it up in one sentence, "Both versions equally look like crap, but when motion blur is off, the ps3 version looks like slightly better crap."

12 - finally.
a multi-plat which is really identical, and stop using a magnifying glass guys, color changes don't mean crap if the settings are tweaked.

we're looking for texture and resolution, and both consoles look identical.

They look close enough. Who cares. Buy the one you like the best or buy the one that you have to.

14 - I prefer Virtua Fighter 5 anyway. It' a shame they scrapped the online on PS 3.
Tekken 6 looks old compared to Virtua Fighter 5.

It actually does look better on PS3, but not much important to Xbox owners, and who the hell cares about Tekken anymore?

these shots are VERY badly taken. It seems nobody checked that the image on screen provided similar environments and effects on both halfs: most of them have the shadows on the left, etc.
