PS3 Gamers Launch Sony Class Action

www.cnw.ca writes: A national class action has been commenced on behalf of PS3 gamers whose PS3 consoles were damaged following the installation of Firmware 3.0 and 3.01.

The claim seeks compensation as a result of alleged defects to Firmware 3.0, which was made available for download on or about September 1, 2009. The defendants named in the lawsuit are Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. and Sony of Canada Ltd.

what if a firmware bricks your TREY, would you be happy? I certainly would not be (even thought mine hasn't). Check out the Playstation forums you would be surprised by how many FAT TREY owners have had the problem with the firmware 3.0 and 3.01. Sony did have two weeks to test it on some older models before releasing 3.0 in september. The update was catered for the slim users :( Anyways my TREY works fine, I have sympathy for the TREY owners who have had their TREYs bricked by the firmware. Support your fellow TREY brothers, you never know your TREY may get bricked by the firmware. Yes you were forced to update the TREY to play online with 3.0 BUT with 3.01 it was optional.

4 - These claims won't stand up.................
Try reading T & C before attempting firmware upgrades.

I have launch 60GB PS3 with BC(upgrade to 320GB) had no problems with any firmware update ever.
