I played the PC and x360 version. The feeling, action, experience and the number of enemies looks the same on the single player mode (except for the HD graphics), it's a very good port in my opinion. If you aren't exigent with graphics you will have a lot of fun playing this title.

Hisiru -- I agree. I already played through the campaign on a 360. This doesn't look as good, and it couldn't. But it looks surprisingly decent (considering some of the other blurry vids that were out a few days ago). And the action is all there. That's what matters.

That, and the controls. Which look to be super solid.

This may end up being the best-controlling console version of COD4. And that's a nice achievement, tbh.

Treyarch, I'm impressed.
[I'm not sure if they one-upped Conduit in terms of graphics tech, but the art style is so much better that it makes up for that. Plus, it's not focused on corridor shooting.]

I think it looks fantastic considering the hardware. At first the environments looked bare, but when the helicopter reached the city, the smoke effects from the explosions began to surprise me, and the graphics as a whole looks really well done. I wondered if it was running at 30fps or 60fps.

See here is the problem with your statement.... Wii is more powerful than PS2, according to you though, not a single PS2 game is hardcore because it isnt in HD.. Sadly this must just be your first gen of gaming and you have no clue that HarDcore while containing an H and a D does not have to be in Hd to be hardcore.. Also COD is one of the most casual games ever made. Nothing "hard" or "core" about it.

Please don't let things like facts and 30 years of gaming history get in the way of your ignorance though.. If not for the morons on N4G who would we laugh at?

Anyone happen to remember years ago that most of the trolls sai that COD4 could never run on Wii, because it wasnt powerful enough? As much as I want this game to fail, its funny to see it when so many uninformed trolls said it wasnt possible.

Also Wii owners save your money and pass on this one. Its the last COD on Wii. They are pushing a 2 year old port off so it will fail and they can skip making it for Wii, or Wii owners buy a 2 year old port and get no new content ever again... You lose either way, show Activision Wii owners do have some common sense.

Seferoth75 -- Activision made this port because W@W sold well. Very well, considering they paid very little attention to marketing the Wii version. If COD4 sells well on Wii, expect a MW2 port sometime next year.

I agree with the rest of your post, though. Graphics don't make a came "hardcore" or not, IMO. That said, Treyarch did a decent enough job on this game. It doesn't look like the HD versions, of course, but it's sorta in between from this gen and the last. Gen-and-a-half, if you will.

It looks a lot more action-packed than Conduit. And I say that as someone who really liked Conduit.

I look at this game the way I looked at RE4. Sure, I had already played it. But I hadn't played it with a superior control scheme.

[Of course, anyone with a mouse/keyboard has already played the best possible controls with this game. But I haven't played it on a PC. And IR/pointer controls beat the living hell out of dual analog.]

i'll take dual analog any day over the wii mote.

i bought the conduit today, and even in all it's glory of being able to tweak your sensitivity on the fly, i still find motion controls to be annoying as hell. Granted i'm not the biggest fps fan, but i rarely have any problems when i play resistance2 or killzone 2. The same thing with RE4 on the wii, i played with the classic controller because i cannot aim good at all with the wii mote. Also, i'm left handed and the wii is geared towards right handed people. I have to use my right hand for the nunchuk cause it feels too awkward trying to aim the wii mote with my right hand, but at the same time, it feels extremely awkward using my right thumb to move the character around. Every game pad i've ever used or seen is set up so the left thumb is on the control pad. I've said this before in the past but people just shoot it down as me hating the wii, when that's not the case. Look at twilight princess. Link has always been left handed until the wii came out. Now link is right handed, because the majority of people are right handed and the wii mote represents the sword which for most people is gonna be in their right hand. The wii version of twilight princess is a mirrored version of the GCN version because of this.

As for the conduit, it's actually not that bad, it's jaggy as hell and it feels like a n64 shooter, but it's pretty cool so far.

hatchimatchi -- I can understand the frustration for being left handed with the remote/nunchuck. If it's uncomfortable for that reason, I get what you mean.

But other than that...yeah, I have to say it's superior to dual analog for FPS. In the same way that a mouse/keyboard is superior for FPS. Thumbstick and sticky/auto assist aiming is just not as precise (especially if you turn the assists off) as pointing directly where you want to shoot.

I see some people literally standing in front of the screen and pointing with their arms outstretched. That's a dumb way to aim with the remote/nunchuck. If you sit down and rest your arm on your lap, or on a couch armrest, you then aim by pivoting at the wrist. And it's very precise.

Faster, too. There is no way dual analog is faster than a pointer control scheme.

The remote/nunchuck doesn't one-up a mouse/keyboard setup, but it's the next best thing.

Its true though battlefield is pretty much MW2 but with vehicles and descructable buildings.

A friend told me before not to bother with COD4 and to get battlefield bad company 1 and i didnt listen, NOT making the same mistake.

This has honestly gone to a first-day purchase for me. I was SUPER disappointed at some of the other vids. They looked blurry, and the controls looked super twitchy.

Not in these. This looks like a very nice (though admittedly lower-res) COD4 with Conduit's controls implemented. And that's a DAMN good thing.

If this sells as well as W@W on Wii, we'll probably get a port of MW2 next year. But for now, this looks like Wii's definitive shooter.

My hat goes off to Treyarch. I didn't think they had it in them.
