Xbox 360 Sky Player Released To All Users

Microsoft has announced that the sky player is now available to "100 per cent" of Xbox 360 owners in UK and Ireland. The service that contains TV and movie streaming was taken offline 10 days ago after too much user demand overloaded the system.

ps3 can't even play ps2 games, nor install Os's anymore.

the ps3 plays ps1 games but not ps2 games.

THATS F-ING STUPID.

I'm paying 300$ and I'm not getting ps2 playablilty.

so they took out ps2 play, Os install, memory card slots, and several other features.

Yes nainainai, I'm sure most PS3 owners loved installing different OS's. It was an obscure and unused feature. Get over it. And there's no PS2 BC becuase you buy a PS3 to play PS3 games. You want to play PS2 games? Get a PS2.

Shutup Nai, PS2 games are too old. Why you want to go play standard def games is beyond me. I have the old PS3 that can play PS2 games and I never play PS2 games. There's too many PS3 games to play. Your just jealous that there's not as many games to play on the 360.

I just finished Jak and Daxter again on my 60 GB (now 250 GB). It was surprisingly more fun than I thought it'd be after all these years. Now playing Jak 2.

I don't forget my roots. Haha, this generation made people too spoiled with graphics. I really would wish they'd let you download something from the PS Store (even for a fee) for PS2 games. Then I'd go buy a PS3 slim.

The past is important to me. That's when most of the best games were released.

No because Sky is only available in the UK where Netflix doesn't exist. If anything it's a response to the PS3 being able to use the BBC iPlayer which is a UK exclusive service too.

For them to directly counter Netflix they'd need to integrate Hulu or something, you know make you pay for another service that you can get for free on your PC/Mac.

My guess is that is has something to do whatever caused the launch problems. That the best fix was to make it generally open otherwise they'd need months or years to resolve Gold exclusivity.

If a Sky icon was showing up on Silver account XMBs after the update and prior to it being free might confirm this.

This product is targeted @ users who already HAVE Gold XBL acct & a 360 w/o Sky service or are going to buy a 360/XBL gold acct and don't have Sky service.

But if you think $4 per month for a top-notch service like XBL is EXPENSIVE...then you, my friend should not be looking into Sky TV at all!!!

This is wrong. I just logged into my 360, loaded up sky player only for them to ask me to upgrade to Gold membership to use it. So it has not been released to "ALL USERS" at all.

I won't be upgrading to gold for this because i can use sky player just as easily on my PC or just use my sky boxfor the proper experience.. :\

Good job Microsoft, take an otherwise great feature that we already pay for with our sky subscription and make us pay for it.

Now BC games are old. I remember when this was one of the biggest caveats that PS3 haters/fanboys said was better than the Xbox 360. Times and excuses change I guess. Xbox live offers more than cable for just $50 that's for damn sure.
