Will Halo: Reach match the graphical quality of Killzone 2?

the PS3 arrives one year later than 360 but this one still don't have game which can equal Killzone 2's power. That's just a proof that PS3 exclusivity can't be touched

Instead of making sentences like "equal K2" try to have a game in 720p native resolution. After that you can try to reach K2.

I find Halo's levels empty, yet oddly aesthetically sound and visually pleasing. When you look at Halo, you know it's Halo. That's more than I can say for 90% of post-apocalyptic shooters these days. It can't compete on a technical level with UC2 or KZ2, but for some reason it still looks solid to me.

Just fix the last gen ragdolls too please. =)

Halo Reach might become the best looking Halo game but seriously it wouldnt be that hard to make a game that looks better than Halo 3 and ODST. The graphics look like those 2 games were on the first Xbox the amount of jaggies on Halo 3 and ODST look awful it ruined the whole experience for me

I've been staring at the pictures ever since they came out. From them, you can conclude that:

From the Spartan Laser picture, poly count has increased and you apparently fight in space - possibility of fighting as the MC in space. On the bottom left, you see a part of what seems to be a mac cannon.

From the pause menu picture, you see an XP progress bar, and on the bottom right: credits. You get to upgrade your perks? weapons?

The build the dude photographed is evidently very early into the game. The environments are not done, which you can tell from the rock textures, which look worse than Halo 3's rock textures.

The devs dont want bright shiny colors every game has they want something deep and scary like real war, if you go to a real war at night its the same for killzone 2, They also had daytime too, u wont expect to see trees and grass and tropical blue water from a world thats been intoxicated with gas and ores.. i must not ignore what things we have seen on 360 this gen from 360 that arent exclusives, like the rage engine like someone said, and the cryengine 3 and all 3 of the latest call of duty engines also if its really true then digi guys has wardevil working on 360 and that game blows all games out of the water, although i still think RTE is only on ps3, guys we are just going to have to get the fact in our heads that ps3 and 360 are ALOT more powerful than pc fans and developers like crytek primarily tried to imply that they are, just look at what they said the limit of ps3 was going to be and look how far ps3 has gone past that, the pc fans push that crysis is the best looking game, and its simply not, i dont care what settings, ps3 fans are jumping on this article like uncharted 2 and killzone 2 are anywhere near ps3s full potential that is if it has a full potential but anyway from what both machines have been pulling out i would get everything out of your minds of what pc fans say and look at what we have

I don't think it's likely right now but honestly I haven't seen any decent shots that are confirmed to be genuine so I can't really say. None of you should either. Saying no straight up is ignorant fanboyism. We will probably be free to say no as much as we want later though :D should be fun watching the 360 fanboy reactions. 2. They have made an entire studio around the franchise which includes top tier talent in the developer community from artists to animators to coders to writers.

3. The original minds behind Halo (Frankie) are still very much involved.

4. MS has the bankroll to make it all happen.

5. The game has been in development since Halo 3 so it's been in the oven long enough to make it something special.

All signs point to YES.

Well I don't think anyone's really been pushing the graphics on 360 as of late, Banjo looked good but wasn't something I wanted to play.

All 360 multiplats are going to look as good as/slightly better then their PS3 brethren depending which platform is the lead.

MS surely put the eDRAM in there for something and I wouldn't be surprised if we see something really unique.

One negative that could come about from the Edge/X engines is that we may see a large gulf between exclusive and multiplat games and I don't think the multiplat publishers would be willing and/or able to afford to essentially develop two different engine versions of their games.

I'm sure Activision and other publishers would shorten game length if they had to develop two different versions of the same game.

All the good looking PS3 exclusives have been big users of deferred rendering something we haven't seen as much of in exclusive 360 games but that's not to say it can't be done.

Uncharted 2, Meh!! i thought gears 1 looks better, i mean, i really did, they should stick to making jak and i mean jak and let people with a bit of savvy make some men n meat games, like the unreal guys.

Killzone 2, is good! thats a given, but really, i seen better graphics on the force unleashed, you cant compare kz2 to halo 3, its not in the same ball park, heck it's not in the same league as halo, really it isnt. Can be honest here, own up and take note, Killzone 2 is little league, it's a minor thing, nothing to big, beautiful game but never never gunna challenge Halo i mean come on guys i know most of you are retards but surely you must have some brain activity.

Fact is sony will never be as good as microsoft, microsoft are western, japan are not :) Ms know what we want and we dont let obscure countries like norway (or wherever the hell they made killzone) make games for them.

You must be talking about the 2007 preview videos of killzone 2.
When the game came out 2 years later the textures did not look grey, the lighting colour looked really good also. The game looks so nice in HD and true next gen game.

I wasnt a great Halo Fan, but since they added Coop-Campaign Mode, i love it. Its so muchg Fun to play it together with a friend. Halo ODST: was alot better that Halo 3 too. Sure the Graphics are somewhat outdated, but they have a personal charme. I personal loved how the game look through the Visir.

So anyone who jugde a Game by Graphics sucks. No one can tell how Halo: Reach will be, but all PS3 Fanboys say "Sh!t Game, it does not look like Killzone". - Go play with yourself in the bathroom!

Halo never was about Graphics, it was about Fun.

If you want to compare Graphics, take something that have good Graphics. Maybe Mass Effect 2 vs. Killzone 2

Why is there so much hate for the Xbox? Jesus, its not like it affects the PS3 or anything.
And besides, Halo’s graphics aren’t bad. In fact, Halo 3 could have had amazing graphics if they had created a simpler level design, but Bungie made a more sprawling and varied environment, and the graphics and textures kind of paid the price. Reach could definitely be as good, or better than Killzone 2’s. Killzone 2 had basic level designs, and so they could put more into the appearance instead of the game.
Not saying Killzone 2 is bad, its just… simple. It doesn’t have many different environments, for god’s sake, it has a color palette of brown, gray, and red. The level design is basically straightforward, and the enemy AI just isn’t top notch. I wouldn’t exactly call it excellent, I would say it would be between good and average. Not the PS3’s best game. Uncharted 2 fits that role perfectly.
And back to the matter at hand, it might. The gameplay pictures don’t exactly have picture quality of the highest caliber. But from what I can tell, the graphics look pretty good for an alpha to pre-beta build.
