Valve: 360 Community Head and Shoulders Above PS3

Left 4 Dead project lead Chet Faliszek has said the 360 community is "head and shoulders above the PS3", and that's why the multiplayer-focused Left 4 Dead series isn't on Sony's console.

Speaking to CVG Faliszek said the community aspects of the PC and Xbox platforms "really fit" Left 4 Dead - so it's not coming out on PS3.

"Right now for Left 4 Dead 2 we're looking at PC and 360 because the community aspects really fit the game - it's all about playing with your friends," he said.

L4D2 uses the aging Source engine designed before we even had multi-core processors in PCs, cannot be optimized properly (or cheaply) to work on PS3 (see orange box).

4 - Aww now valve...
Dont be covering up for your lack of ps3 support, I would prefer you guys just said you want to make a solid game for at least 360 and pc than say the ps3 online community isn't good enough, thats obviously an excuse.Granted i dont use my headset because i would feel akward as not too many do use one, Gameplay and a unique online experiance is the main way to achieve sucess,and to lie and say the reason for not releasing it on ps3 is because it doesnt have as good of a community than 360 is just rubbing off as fanboyism, just say you guys arn't a big sudio with ps3 experiance!Atleast then you guys could maintain respect as amazing game devs!

i bought ps3 at launch because ive been a huge ps fan since the beginning. I was hesitant to buy 360 because i didn't like the xbox much. I consider the ps3 a better more respectful console, but i never play it because it's multiplayer service is inferior. And I consider the multiplayer aspect to be the biggest improvement since last-gen.

Probably never played PS3.

Right now PS3 is the hottest console on the market. Roaring sales, new look and top games on the horizon.

Valve are full of themselves and love to come up with new excuses.

"It's too hard to code for PS3" "The community isn't there" Wah Wah Wah.

Just come clean, you aren't a big enough company to handle dev for another platform, you don't have the resources.

16 - Valve has already ruined themselves.....
...on the PS3. I think their reputation as being rampant PS3-bashers has caught up to them.

I don't personally play their games, as I'm not a hardcore multi-player gamer. I love single player because I grew up playing video games on my own fro the 8-bit era on, and I think a LOT of people online just suck as people anyway.
