Valve: 360 Community Head and Shoulders Above PS3

Left 4 Dead project lead Chet Faliszek has said the 360 community is "head and shoulders above the PS3", and that's why the multiplayer-focused Left 4 Dead series isn't on Sony's console.

Speaking to CVG Faliszek said the community aspects of the PC and Xbox platforms "really fit" Left 4 Dead - so it's not coming out on PS3.

"Right now for Left 4 Dead 2 we're looking at PC and 360 because the community aspects really fit the game - it's all about playing with your friends," he said.

Why do they say the PC and 360 are equal for community features? It's not like PC users even care about Live on the PC. And a console that is going to be supporting MAG, supports Resistance 2, and Free Realms can't support some tiny co op? Come on now... I do think the 360 seems better tooled for community, but not the PC.

But long live releasing L4D 1.25 like they are doing with 2.We all know it's a quick money grab.

How is the 360 better than the PS3 at community though? The one feature the PS3 doesn't have seems to be cross game chat but isn't Microsoft allowing developers to drop that now? Xbox Live has been around longer but Sony's system seems fine. It can handle huge games online too. Valve is just desperate for a reason to not learn a new console. If they're scared to learn the PS3 just say so instead of attacking it.

Plus idk if Valve knows this but allot of people on PSn has mics now. Out of all my friends(almost full list) probaly 2 have no mics. idk i never played L4D but isn't it just a 4player co-op game? is there Versus in it? Cause if not then how easy is it to find 3 other people with mics? really easy. Point is if the game ment to be played with friends, then everyone has them, why should it matter to them if they have a mic or not? Its your friend

They are a PC game development company first and they chose to put their PC game on the 360. They didn't spend 5 years developing a 360 game and then port it to PC it was the other way around.

Been a lifelong Valve Supporter, own a majority of their products and I still am able to see the bullshit in these comments. It's pretty clear they're supporting the 360 due to it's similarities with PC's. I'm fine with that, I own a PC and PS3 so there really aren't many reasons to own a 360. But Valve needs to stop finding terrible excuses for why they aren't developing for the PS3.

why Sony don't include a cheap $10 wired Mic with the PS3. That would be a good move on Sony's part.

I bought a PS3 Slim and I really love it.

Edit: I have an issue with my PS3, every time I am downloading movies and go to watch a blue ray movie and I exit the Blue Ray movie to go back to the PS3 main menu screen all my downloads reset and start over from zero, is this normal or do I have to change some settings. PM me please.

I genuinely prefer the PS3 community. Not to say it's without it's own share off @holes though. It's just Live really take the mick compared.

Mic's should come as standard with the PS3. I know it uses any HS and people probably have decent ones lying around. Just throw in a cheap one to get people going.

I still love how people are calling L4D and L4D2 360 exclusive. I mean honestly, exclusive means it's on that particular gaming system only. So 95% of 360 games AREN'T exclusive considering they are also on PC (and usually are better to play there). I for one love L4D and have been playing the L4D2 demo but not on the 360, nope, on the PC with loads of friends.

You all need to remember, the online community is largest on PC's. It was there first, because the PS2 didn't really have online and Xbox was out way after all of your older consoles, even the PS1. Xbox was the first to have true online but they made you pay for it. PC, still to do this have I not paid "monthly or annually" for any game I play. I am not a WOW player and will never be one.

I can understand they don't have the resources or talent to work across 3 platforms, thats fair enough its their choice to make the games on whatever systems they want to but to take a swipe at the Playstation community is just pretty low. I game on a PC, PS3 and 360 so get the best from each platfrom but I can honestly say I've spent more on PSN content than I have on the 360 and the PS3 has better support for modding, just look at Unreal Tournament 3. I have that game on all three platforms I own because of friends split across those platforms and I feel the PS3 version is the best.

Another good point to talk about regarding online for the PS3 and 360 is Sony doesn't require third parties charge for DLC. Doesn't Microsoft do everything they can to force it on them? It's free to go online on the PS3. I won't say the PS3 is better but I think it's as good as Xbox Live.

The amount of people that will buy this game don't give a Shyt about graphics. The game is fun and addicting. Hours of fun for those who have FRIENDS. Simple as that. Not designed to be a graphic monster but more for mutliplayer on line but considering it's graphics it will sell more than UC 2.

You want to be impressed by graphics? Get a high end p.c and put in Crysis. Now that's impressive.
