This is the very first review for IW's upcoming shooter! No embargo necessary as the site already found the game for sale!

I came. I saw. I pwned. Oh and I loved every single minute of it. That sums up what was my experience with the multiplayer found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. That's awesome! Kotaku did the same thing earlier with Borderlands! Gearbox never sent them the game, so they bought it in the store before it was released and reviewed it that way! Good Job, and good review!

I don't thk this is a surprise at all. With all the customization and ridiculous options IW gives the gamer, the only thing that surprises me is that it didn't get a 6/5.

@taz- Lol, it would be hilarious, but we'll see at least one 6/5 score in the next week or so. Thats certain.

didnt you see, hiphopgamer gave uncharted 2 a 100/10 cause hes a joke.

I feel bad for the gimped pc version but I have a feeling that this game will be better than 4 for consoles.

I wish they would explain how a game with the same engine as the last one and a few adjustments to weapons and the wtf nuke justifies all this hype along with the price.

This could have been done as DLC in all honesty. Sucked in, not I.

can't even play KZ2 anymore cause there's usually only 1 game in the whole world that plays the DLC maps. It seems like all the other one's are usually just Radec.

So you think 9v9 is perfect? ok.... I think you meant to say COD4 is what multiplayer online should be. This game would have been better off as DLC adding new weapons perks and maps to COD4, that way the PC gamers would have no reason to cry, even if it was still a $60 release. Hell if halo can get away with it, IW could.

Actually, I'm starting to think the train for this game is only for those opposing it. You guys have really made yourselves look fairly pathetic. The game isn't out yet. Every aspect of this game is different besides keeping the same (excellent) formula. So until you play it, stop exclaiming how it preforms.

I've played it. It looks solid, but can easily be mistaken for CoD4. Some areas look gorgeous, some look really bland. The setups are really cool though, without a doubt.

overhyped. Over rated. It is the next GTA4. Perfect scores, everyone wants it, but the game falls flat on its face.

lol Does anybody actually know the details about multiplayer?

IW has added some retarded stuff.

First they have only 4 snipers, no G3, M1911 pistol, and a lot of other weapons they took out.

Hardcore mode only for TDM and SnD. No team tact either.

But IW made sure they added dual shotties, throwing knives, nukes, sentry guns etc..

Honestly IW just made this game for casual players. There is no recoil. That is my biggest problem. IW just added a lot of crazy weird stuff, so a lot of younger players would like woah!

Have you shot modern day combat weapons? Most have little to no recoil. Shoot an M4 or and M1, you will be astonished of how little recoil their is. I found CoD4 weapons to be actually really close to what they would be with someone who is trained to fire them. I have fired tons of weapons throughout my career so far and I was shocked of how new improved and advanced barrels have reduced recoil.

Crap. I Was a beast with that.

I Think the perk system is a cool idea, but I can't stand how FPS's are becoming reliant on gimmicks for the casuals instead of just being a better shot/aim than your opponent.

I really hope this game balances out, but so far I'm still a bit worried.

haha I love this site. I got 2 disagrees. I'm a tactical firearms instructor for the federal government and have more experience with firearms than most people; yet I still get disagrees from people who probably have never even held a loaded firearm.

Of course. If you haven't learned by now how hard the hype train roles... what's funny is when you have these same sites 2 years down the line doing "retrospectives" about how "MGS2 wasn't as good as we reviewed it." Then why did you assign it that score in the first place eh?

Oh well, all I care about is whether or not this game is any fun, and how balanced the MP will be? Turrets? Bleck. And frankly, watching the guys at work play it, it could easily be mistaken for CoD4 visually. And yet, some of their setpieces/setups are really, really clever. I need to see the final game to judge it...
