Modern Warfare 2 pushed back to Nov 13 on Steam?

Gamer Limit has discovered that Steam lists the official release date for the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 as November 13, 2009. This is a full three days later then the world wide release date of November 10. We have no concrete evidence at this time as to whether this is a mistake or not. Continue to check back with Gamer Limit as we wait to find out why the release date has been pushed back.

Well, the game requires Steam to run, so if it's not unlocked on Steam on the 10th, then people who bought it at retail won't be able to play it until the 13th. The hell?

I am not getting this game. But anyone that uses STEAM knows that they don't release games until 12noon PST the day the game officially launches. Which means anyone concerned about playing the game at the absolute earliest they can on launch day always buys a copy from a brick and mortar store.

MW2 relies on Steam the same way Valve's games do. Even if you buy it from a store, you won't be able to play until it's activated on Steam.

Interesting that it's showing the 13th for me and the 12th for other people. In either case, it's still a later release date then the console version's November 10th date.

No self-respecting PC gamer should buy this game at all.

8.4 - I now hate Infinity Ward
Terrible studio. Way to smack all PC gamers in the face. We're the ones that put them on the map in the first place and now they turn around and pull a stunt like this.

I'll be getting Battlefield Bad Company 2. It's good to see Dice, a studio born from PC Gaming as well, still supports their original fans. Shame on you Infinity Ward.

It's said that since the first day it showed on Steam....?

Guessing they want to give retail a head start for whatever reason.
