Call Of Duty: Modern Warefare 2 UK Release Broken

It seems as though GAME retailer the largest video game retailer in the UK has also broken the Modern Warfare 2 street release date. But before you all run to your local store STOP its not in stores, after pre-ordering Modern Warfare 2 online last week I daily checked the status of my order as I had heard of the broken release dates so today I checked my order and guess what its been despatched

I only pre-ordered mine from GAME y'day...checked my status and got:
05/11/2009 Your order is currently being picked and packed.
Hopefully it will be dispatched tomorrow and I get for Mon or Tues =)

Yes they have sent them out, but nobody will get their orders until Tuesday. Parcel Force are holding ALL CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE 2 ORDERS

Thank you for your enquiry.

I have checked the tracking number you have provided and your parcel is not yet due for delivery. It is currently progressing through the Network.

If the item you are referring to is the new Call of Duty game, we have been instructed to hold these ready for delivery on Monday 9th November, which is when delivery will be made. If it is any other item then delivery will be made tomorrow.

If there is no one available to accept the parcel on this date, a "Sorry we missed you" card will be left giving further instructions on delivery options.

It's because of the postal strike I think. They just wanted to get the copies out there sooner rather than later probably.

got confirmation from GAME that it had been dispatched. theyr using parcel force. when i phoned was told will get it MONDAY AT THE EARLIEST

GAME have a contract in place with Parcel Force since they allowed everyone to have free courier delivery due to the postal strikes. The are despatching the games to the courier - but they have stipulated to the couriers not to deliver them until monday at the earliest.

It is likely that those who originally opted and paid £4.95 extra will get theirs by Monday. Those with free dleivery will get theirs by Tuesday.

This is simply down to the threat of postal strikes

also play.com (where i've ordered) also have a courier on for mw2, i got a e-mail

Dear xxxxxxx

To ensure we get your order to you by the release date of Tuesday 10th November we will be dispatching this with a courier and not Royal Mail, eliminating any risk of it being delayed by the ongoing industrial action.

Lol why make an article over this. Read the e-mail game sent you? It clearly states the thing will arrive on Tuesday, they will have told Parcelforce not to make it move until then. Myn has been sat in a National Parcelforce Depot according to their track since Wednesday.

activision have said to all retailers NOT to sell early, but retailers have said they are sending the game out early to royal mail or couriers so they can make sure that everyone gets there copy on tuesday. They have told couriers and royal mail not to deliver the game as all retailers are under embargo from activision not to deliver the game before release date
