Can Call of Duty: MW2 beat Uncharted 2 to achieve the best graphics of 2009?

As long as it locks 60 fps, it's superior in my mind. I'll take framerate over "cinematic quality" any day. I prefer my games to play like the best game they can... not the best movie they can.

COD isn't even in the same league as Uncharted 2 or Killzone 2. I think Killzone 2 will win best graphics and game of the year will be Uncharted 2. But, MW2 may be able to beat Uncharted 2 for GOTY, I'm guessing it won't due to Uncharted beating it at E3

we all know that uncharted 2 gfx is better than mw2 of course but still mw is a great looking game that runs at 60fps,every game has its own look and feeling

mw2 and uncharted 2 are by far the 2 best games in this year,everyone knows that,to me I like mw better,im a cod 4 fanboy

In some ways, Halo 3 and ODST look better than MW2 and that's saying a lot! Here's the comparison between the Halo, CoD and Uncharted 2 engines:

-Both have jaggies.
-Both run sub-HD.
-Both are out-dated and suck by todays standards.

-Halo's textures actually look pretty good up close.
-Halo's lighting is good and realistic.

-CoD's textures look pixely as hell within 15 feet of a wall.
-CoD's contrast is really messed up! A lot of things are way too bright or way to dark no matter what your TV settings are.

-U2's engine is just about perfect.
-NO jaggies.
-Native 720p.
-Awesome textures no matter how close or far you are.
-Superb lighting.
-Tons of detail everywhere.
-Very far draw-distance.
-The lists goes on and on...

The MW2 engine looked good in 2007 but it looked like crap compared the the 2008 games and it looks terrible compared to KZ2 and U2. It's not even close. I think even Drake's Fortune's graphics are better than MW2's.

I prefer the ps3 but at least I also own a 360. When you buy a Ps3 then I'll start taking you more seriously. Until then you sound like a virgin trying to talk about sex, you haven't a clue.

And I am sick of people bringing Crisis up everytime to compare with a Ps3 game. Don't you PC people have any other game besides a 3 year old game to use as a graphics benchmark? Since Crisis what other game can you hang your hat on? Seriously...

I was wowed by uncharted 2 graphics, but wasnt wowed by the cod4 mw2 graphics. MW2 is a great game though, you will enjoy its atmosphere, intensity, weapons, and direction. But graphically the only pro it has on uncharted 2 is the 60fps.

You guys are unbelievable. Disagreeing with anyone who happens to think Modern Warfare 2 is superior to Uncharted 2 in the graphic department? Can't you f*cking respect each others opinions without acting like a group of girls?

I know I'm going to get tons of disagrees for this, but Uncharted 2 is nothing more than a glorified Gears of war clone with platforming and shall never be on the level of games like Halo, GTA IV or Gears due to it's lack of originality. The gameplay is jacked right from Gears, everything down to how the weapon select looks. It's sort of a mix of a bunch of games that already exist, and that's working against it. The amount of 10/10s it has gotten is ridiculous and makes me question humanity.

And I'm sorry, but Crysis 2 will obliterate Uncharted 2 in the graphic department. If you can't admit that, then you're a damn fool.

That's because a PC has 8GB of ram. Try running Crysis on only 512MB of ram and see how sh*tty Crysis will look. And, had the PS3 have 8 GB of ram too, then Uncharted 2, utilizing those 8GB of ram, would beat all the non-living sh*t out of Crysis, and then proceed to force Crysis to eat it all.

It doesn't matter how many frames MW2 renders per second. MW2 can render at 1,000,000 frames per second, but those low resolution textures aren't going to look any better.

Just go online and compare two screenshots of each game and you'll see. Uncharted 2 runs in native 720p while MW2 only upscales to that. I can't remember the exact number but MW2 runs in 644p or something strange number like that. Just by this alone there is no way to compare the two. Well if that's not enough than as I said just look at screenshots of both. You are intelligent enough to do that right? By doing this you will see what I mean.

Street date has been broken and I have my copy. Well technically I do. It's a really good game but the graphics are nowhere near uncharted 2, despite the different art directions and it's a multiplatform game it's not going to have the same or above influential graphics of uncharted 2 or even killzone 2.
