Okay, well my dad is more of an intellectual than a redneck chest-thumper. The only games I've ever got him interested in were Oddworld: Munch's Oddyssey, Biochosk on PS3, and Metal Gear Solid 4. Lately he's been impressed with Brutal Legend, though.

The only games my father has played in the past 25 years are:

NES
Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, Tetris,

Fast forward 20 years:
Wii
Wii Sports, Boom Blox

PS3
Flower.

And that's it. He has very, very strictly defined and limited interests when it comes to videogames.

my father don't play games at all! he's more an outdoor type of guy and when at home, he prefers to sleep! but he sometimes watches me playing FIFA with my brothers as he likes football, and also watching when I play racing games because he like cars! recently, he sat there for quite awhile watching me playing Uncharted 2! he seems amazed! :)

The only games I ever got my old man to play when I was younger were racing games, namely, GT. Oh and Street Fighter, but his furious button bashing pissed me off so much we never played again.

To be fair, he finds modern games to confusing and the pads just look alien. Just not his generation. Still, always paid for mine (when I was growing up), cheers dad :)

lol, my dad is 70 years old. No way he is going to start playing video games. The last time I handed him a controller, he just looked at me with that, "What, are you crazy?" kind of look. He wonders why I as a grown man play these things, haha.

I'm a dad and no one has to convince me to play :). I'm just glad my kids are young enough they can't play unless I turn it on for them :)

I would nix MGS4 from that list. You aren't going to win anyone over that is new to gaming with the story. It would be way too confusing and their eyes would probably glaze over during the cutscenes.

My Dad spent 350 hours in Oblivion, 100 hours on Dragon Quest VIII, 250 hours in Dark Cloud 2, 100 hours in Rogue Galaxy, and who knows how many on the Kings Quest series and Civilization.

He convinced ME to play, not the other way around. :P

But I'm already a dad what is the point of this article. The average age of a gamer is 35 which I am 6 months from. Why not 5 games that make kiddies wet their pants on the 360. Because the 360 is what dad's buy their kids so they can play the ps3. A true manly console.
