This is a joke that he'd call them out on something so silly. Smug, sensitive people are the ones who make harmless stupid little things into big ordeals.

You use the word online a LOT don't you?

Guess what... I think you're part of the problem.

Why are words like that a problem? Because not one of you can gauran-d***-tee that none of the gay gamers that play online aren't offended and genuinely hurt by these insults... and that's all they are. You throw them out carelessly because "Hey, I'm on the net... they'll never know it was me! Why should I care?"

Now imagine if there was something about you, that you weren't proud of, didn't like to talk about... and it was being made as the butt of every joke, wisecrack, and insult flying through the voice chat of the game you played repeatedly... You mean to say that it would just bounce off you harmlessly? I'm an adult, and even I admit there are times when my feelings get hurt. So no, I do not think it's cool... and I don't think it's necessary to enjoy the game.In fact, I don't think trash talking is necessary, period.

P.S.: Adam Sessler.. collect 20pts. It's not even cool when Infinity Ward themselves do it.

I have to say I 100% agree with Sessler on this one. I saw the video before it was taken down by Infinity Ward and I thought it was great I laughed pretty hard. And then the logo at the end came up and It stopped my laughter dead. There was NO reason for it. The whole thing was funny without it. All it did was add a offensive undertone to the whole thing and as Sessler said there are probably millions of COD fans who saw the video and are now gonna say the word over and over all over XBL which is unfortunate.

I personally am not gay but I do have a few friends that are and I can tell you that while they may put on a brave face and take something like that in stride it still hurts and offends them even if they don't say so out loud. People really need to think about what they say both in the real world and on XBL.

I'm all for freedom of speech and expression, but if you're going to make a f***ing joke--if you're going to say something silly and funny--then why can't you use something that isn't a hurtful and pernicious word for certain groups of people (especially certain groups of people that you're not personally a part of). Why use the word "f**" or the word "n***er" when you KNOW that these words are historically loaded with a lot of hatred and pain behind them for certain groups of people?

I'm not saying that people absolutely MUST stop using these words, because there's something called the first amendment and people have the right to spout off in whatever manner of vocabulary they wish. But it just irritates the s*** out of me that people making these certain controversial/offensive jokes are either completely naive about the kind of pain or social disparagement they are unknowingly causing, or they're being disingenuous about it: "Um, who cares? It's just a word; it's just a joke; there's no harmful intent behind using the word 'n***er' or 'f**.'" These people are just flat-out being dishonest.

Bottom line, if you absolutely can't help yourself, and INSIST certain offensive or controversial terms, be educated and cognizant about the hate-filled history or meaning behind those words. OR, be HONEST about the message you're spreading (either consciously or unconsciously) when you use a word like "f*g" in a disparaging manner. Be HONEST that you're spreading hate; don't pretend you're not.

They have no CoD4 in their offices because they sold them and used the money to buy Battlefield Bad Company (which is better in the first place).

Anywho. I never really watched the F.A.G.S video because I have no interest in anything Activision/IW does or say anymore. Sessler should really talk about how they're screwing the gamers and stealing our money.

Again, MW2 is only expensive. They are not stealing anyone's money.

MW2 is more than likely going to have the same lovable MW multiplayer and a much better single player. You can harp on it all you want, doesn't change that fact that it'll sell millions and all the 360 users will love it.

It also seems, that Sessler isn't that big of a PC gamer as he never adresses dedicated servers (or he doesn't care). He chooses xbox for CoD like most other MW players like him.

"You can harp on it all you want, doesn't change that fact that it'll sell millions and all the 360 users will love it."

People playing it on consoles will know no difference if there are no dedi's or not. It's the same as CoD4 Matchmaking. So they show that they are lazy and just did a direct port to PC. Which is stupid.

Look at the Wii. Sales does not equal quality. Yeah there will be a buttload of kids playing it on Live because everyone and their dog knows the Call of Duty Franchise. They know that lot's of people play it, they know it's competitive. What the don't know is that there ARE better games. I know... hard to comprehend but it's true.
The merit of a game isn't based on sales figures. It's based on how we, the gamer, enjoy or dislike a game. Sure, you could look at the great reviews from all the different gaming sites, but you won't know until you actually play it. Bad Company was overlooked because it was in the shadow of CoD4 which was a "great" game. But there was more innovation in Bad Company than what CoD4 did.

Modern Warfare 2 should be a $40 game. $50 at the most. They stripped out all the games value in the PC version, thus reducing the life of the game. They limit matches to 9v9 which, if you ask any PC FPS player, is a joke. There goes the competitive gaming.. The list of problems goes on and on. Even console gamers should be outraged. Especially 360. The party chat feature has been taken out.

Come to think of it, given that the episode was bit too similar, that the South Park guys can do a turn over quicker than anyone because of how they make it, all of it probably was on purpose.

Just for whatever reason they didn't put in any direct-direct references. Like say IW not giving their permission, unlike Blizzard.

I think this whole thing is people being over-sensitive. It isn't like IW made an acronym from their little slogan, the idiots on the internet did. Granted, they probably should have figured some retard would take it there, but sometimes when you're too close to a subject, you don't see it.

An example is a story I heard about the LAPD when they first got radios. They wanted to come up with an official name/ acronym for the units so some guy submitted Field Uniform Communication Kit. It almost got all the way up to the top before people figured it out.

I still think this is a case of people being over-sensitive, just like all the bullshit people made over RE5 being racist because the main character was white and killing black zombies while he was in Africa of all places. People just need to calm down. If it is intentional, by all means, give 'em hell. But if it's unintentional, cut people some slack, because people shouldn't have to over-analyze everything they think or say because it might offend someone because of a personal choice.

The same way you want gays to marry is the same way I don't. We both have our reasons. We have different opinions and we voice them in the polls.

But I do not condone using language like this.

edit: Might as well. If you happen to press disagree, voice your opinion (or type I suppose). I currently have two on my message above and I assume I know where one came from. So speak your mind. Good to have your opinions heard right?

And xMAx Sadistik below me. Jesus man, try not to be so offensive while voicing your opinion. You can do it but you're not gonna get your point across with a tone like that.

My question for the people who think gay marrage is wrong is....how the f*** does 2 homosexual individuals marrying each other affect you? personally im not gay myself but when ever i hear someone say they don't condone with gay marrage i instantly think "oh, well he obviously is appart of a religious group/background that doesnt approve of it, therefore he is just following the herd while not actually thinking or understanding what it would be like to be in the same shoes as a homosexual induvidual who has to go through this every day."

It just annoys me how religious people (and im sorry to bring religion into this) feel they have to control so many aspects of other peoples life's, especially when they are not physically affected by something as simple as gay marriage.....FFS, its time to grow up and think on your own. the only reason for me to actually give a sh*t about what is going on in the homosexual community is if i were gay myself, and seeing how im not my next question would be why the hell would i need to be worrying or concentration on something that doesn't affect me. im all for human rights and treating others the way i would like them to treat me so when i hear people disapproving something as simple as gay marriage i instantly think that the only reason why they feel that way is because they have been told to feel that way from the people that are close to them or from the oh so holy book that is not supposed to be taken any more seriously than a Harry Potter book.

as for the video itself, it was kind of funny and to me Adams Soapbox didn't really seem to be that much of a big deal but in the end i completely agree with him, its a word that is widely used in society that is on the same level as the N word, therefore there is no real reason to use it.....

@ReservoirDog316. I'm sure the gay community will appreciate the fact that you didn't call them any bad names while you were on your way to vote against allowing them their basic human rights and pursuit of happiness.

Basic human rights. Just look up a few of these.

Any country that allowed gay marriage has gotten considerably worse. Usually, it's taxes that shoot way way up.

Marriage is a tradition under the bible. Bible doesn't allow it, so what's the argument? And it's very clear that it's not allowed.

Under the laws we have, we're all equal. I can't marry another man the way they can't marry another man. So we're all under the same basic human rights.

But to wrap it up, I'm not like those christians that hate gay people. Even if they hate me. We may differ on opinions but they're still very much human.

I understand what you're saying. But you don't understand the situation. Stuff like gays allowed to vote and stuff like that. Of course they're allowed those basic human rights. But getting married under God, a tradition from the bible, when the bible clearly doesn't appove of it is kinda a slap on the face.

And I'm not the type that says that if you're gay, you go straight to hell. Not true. Bible says we're all sinners and the only reason we go to heaven is cause we believe in Jesus. So, gay people in heaven, if they believe in Jesus.

And I'm not a mindless sheep. Look at the facts, you'll see the bible's the right way. Look up Chuck Missler if you're truly open minded like you say.

Like I said earlier, any country that allows gay marriage goes considerably down. Look it up. Every single one.

Sessler needs to grow a pair. I'm going to be honest, he is acting like a f**. This video actually did the reverse of what they probably hoped to accomplish. It showed a grown man, acting like a f**. This is what's wrong with our society today. We have way too few men and too many guys with sand in their vagina who apologize for every little thing that 'may offend somebody'. Hey, why don't gay people come up with a slur for straight people? I would be fine with them using it in a joke: 'Hey you stupid vagina-loving hetero piece of crap'. Wouldn't bother me. I just wish people would get over this.

Except this society doesn't look down on your hetero lifestyle. It's easy for you to say that because the mainstream doesn't slur against heterosexuality because there's nothing to slur supposedly.

So you're not speaking against being pc, as seen by your "too many guys with sand in their vagina who apologize for every little thing that 'may offend somebody'", you're just another seemingly sexist (at the very least misogynistic) person who believes they're better than people because of genetics or lifestyle.

Political correctness and respect are two different things. We can be respectful without blindly following a doctrine such as the 'PC Police' do. We don't use the word out of respect for those whom it hurts, not because we are obligated to do so by a vast conspiratorial mechanism.

He also should've mentioned that Infinity Ward, as a premier videogame developer that's getting TREMENDOUS press coverage and hype in the mainstream media, should be holding themselves to a professional level of behavior and conduct. They're working adults, not teenagers; they shouldn't be making such sad, misguided attempts to "connect" with the youth in such a negative way.

I hope this lack of judgement doesn't affect the quality of their games. (though i did see a space station in the latest MW2 trailer. wtf.)

That was pretty much my idea as well. We ALL fall victim to laughing at sophomoric humor from time to time. However, those that produce this kind of thing have a responsibility for what they put out into the world. If ANYBODY thinks that the acronym was just an accident...then you are just naive. IW was attempting to assuage their core audience, which is this tweener generation that has no qualms about the use of this and other types of offensive language. They believe that words DON'T have power and that people should just "toughen up". The fact is they have ALSO been spared MOST of the torturous history of THOSE VERY words that they choose to use.
Freedom of speech is NOT without consequence...and maybe IW will use better judgment the next time they decide to pander to their core audience.
