There's NO reason not to buy this game if you have a PS3. I would gladly pay the full 60 bucks, let alone less. GOTY 2009, no doubt about it. Only fellow PS3 Exclusive Killzone 2 comes close to UC2.

This is a great deal for one of the best games this gen and possibly ever. Uncharted 2 is a pure master piece and EVERY PS3 owner needs to buy this game, even if you only bought your system for Blu ray as this game will show off your system, and give you the same experience of a movie if not better. Uncharted 2 should sell much better than it's doing since it is one of the best games created in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ng time.

Now on to the game that's GOING to top it. God of War 3 is absolutely amazing, if you haven't pre-ordered it do yourself a favor and do it now to get the demo. The videos on IGN, gametrailers, and every other site don't do this game justice. It plays like perfection and looks as good as if not better than Uncharted 2 (at times it looks better) already and this demo was made in May 09 (over 6 months ago). God of War 3 is GOTY potential for 2009 already even with all the other big name games coming out next year, and that's no joke.

Naughty Dog, Polyphony, and Sony Santa Monica are killing the PS3.

Agreed with the two above about the whole movie thing. It's actually funny cause that Sony commercial for Uncharted 2 became a reality for me of sorts. My girlfriend curling up on the couch beside me just to watch, wondering what will happen next and get rather attached to the story and all. Of course she knew it was a game and not a movie. Though it did make us both laugh later when we saw that commercial again after she had watched me beat the game.

That being said, I've been saying it since Drake's Fortune, and the same rings very true for UC2: Uncharted isn't just a game. It's an experience.

At this price it's way too good to pass up. I was more than happy to pay full price for probably the greatest game this generation.

I always feel like a sucker when I buy a game at full price, only to have them drop the price shortly afterwards. But U2 is so good, it doesn't really bother me this time.

Hopefully this will get more people to buy the game, otherwise, the games industry might get another crazy idea and think people don't want games like this!

I agree its in my top 3 as well. Id probably have it next Bioshock and maybe CoD4/MGS4/GTA4.
Your only in Chapter 7, but believe me the game gets better. There are parts were the game slows down and gets back to classic Uncharted towards the end, and just when you think thats it, the game blows you away with another set piece.

Well, depending on where the GOTY award is coming from, the former could be as insignificant (in terms of an accolade for quality) as the latter.

As for best selling, we all know that doesn't mean anything. Just look at all other forms of entertainment and you'll clearly see that best-selling practically never translates to better quality. In music you have people like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and Beyonce being annual Billboard chart-toppers. In movies you have things like Transformers, X-Men, Harry Potter, Fast and the Furious, Ironman, etc. leading the modern box office charts. Not to say that some of them can't be decent (I rather enjoyed Transformers and Ironman and the Wolverine movies, plus I like some of the artists that make it on the billboard charts sometimes) but rarely (if ever) are they the best there is to offer. Often times they're just mediocre. The real 'best of the best'/gems are the ones that sell only marginally but the real critics, you'll see, absolutely praise said artists or films.

That being said, a GOTY award can be just as insignificant depending on the source. If it's GameTrailers or something like Spike's VGAs then I wouldn't care at all. However if it's a Game of the Year award from somebody like the AIAS or Game Developers Choice Awards, then I'd happily take that over top selling any day of the week. And that's the real rating of quality in my book. As long as the sales are well enough to make a profit for the developers and to warrant a sequel, than that's all that matters as far as sales are concerned, it doesn't always have to be lets-use-a-bigger-budget-for-a dvertising-than-the-actual-game -cost halo sales.

Since you came out from under the bridge, I thought I'd give you a little companionship. For the record, Amazon DID offer a similar deal for Halo 3: ODST (I am a frugal gamer, so I always check prices), and the price has been fluctuating ever since its release. Uncharted 2 still remains as one of the top sellers, so it isn't an issue of lack of sell-through, it's just common business practice for Amazon to stay ahead of the competition. 1. weapon system terrible why because your character can only carry 2 guns just like cod4, halo 3/odst, resistance, killzone 2 and about every other shooter. maybe you find switching guns hard? no that can't be it because it is as simple as pressing left or right on the d pad. so what is wrong with the weapon system?
2.everyone uses the grenade launcher....hmmm that would be hard to do since there is only one on the maps that have one kinda like how the rockets are in halo 3.
3.level design sucks yeah i guess when your only use to flat boring maps like in gears the transition can be hard.
4.cover system sucks lol cliffy b doesn't think so that is why he copied it.
5.no use for climbing let me think for 2 seconds some possible uses for climbing snipers could use it to see better, when playing gold rush/survival you can climb to avoid the enemy rush, drop grenades on unsuspecting people hiding behind a wall yeah seems to have plenty of uses.
6.you need to lvl up to unlock everything so ranking up is rewarding

IMHO I would pay $100 for Uncharted 2 because it's THAT good to me, but what the heck would you know about great games! With an attitude like yours, it very likely you missed out on tons of great games, which is sad.

BTW my first generatin FAtty BC Ps3 cost me $500 and it was the beest investment in Electronics I have ever made, that and my 56" 1080P tv, 7.1 Onkyo surround sound. No holes in my pocket yet.

i guess the same could be asked about heavenly sword and GT5P and GoW 1&2.
GT5P ($45)= was a demo
heavenly sword($60)= same game lenth as ODST.
GoW1&2($45) = most people already own the ps2 versions. and since the ps3 doesn't play ps2 games. you have to rebuy it again just to play it on the ps3.

The PS3 exclusives are second to none. Pure quality all the way. I pity any gamer who cannot play Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Same goes for Killzone 2 and Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. There are are bunch of great exclusives out there this year but these 3 take my top spots in 2009.

I buy multiplatform too. Just ordered Bioshock, Dead Space and the Orange Box from the bargain bin. All 3 games totally were less than what I gave for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. I want to play games, many games, but will only pay full price for true quality.
