Life Is More Like A Video Game Than You Think - Chapter 1

DualShockers writes:

"The following piece was written by Brian Wilmeth, a 25 year old aspiring author (and gamer) from Park Slope, Brooklyn. He is currently working on a book entitled "Life is More Like a Video Game Than You Think" (working title), and in it he describes many ideas how life is basically one big game and we're all essentially just trying to "level up" in a sense. We here at DualShockers have been fortunate enough to have the author of the piece send us a condensed a version, one of which we can share with our readers. It isn't the chapter you will see when the book is published, but more of a detailed summary of what your can expect when it is. We will run this as a weekly series, giving all of the readers out there an exclusive chapter per week. Check back often, as this young and hungry author seems to have a real hit in his hands. Enjoy the reading."

1 - This..
Is an awesome read, and the idea that games suck because the people who were creating them weren't in their right place makes a lot of sense. Similar things happen to musicians, authors, and artists in general. Most people can only create depending on how good they feel.

I agree. Since gaming is becoming, or has become, the new trend, I feel it should be expressed of the positive things gaming can contribute to hobbyists.

Good piece. I'm sure a couple of people can somehow relate to this.

Well, who's gonna write them? Gamers! So get out your rigs and start writing. Even though most of ours are way too overpowered for MS Word, they can still be used for that!

3 - Agreed
This helps gaming and the culture as a whole receive much more attention in an intellectual and artistic sense as opposed to the common rhetoric spewed by politicians and critics alike.

4 - I agree
Though I agree, one must think that this is all logical. I always related my life to a game, but was it because I am a gamer, that I am not sure.

I've always considered life as an RPG. Some of life's tribulations can only be conquered by leveling up. There's not one day where this theory hasn't been put to the test. Nicely done, Mr. Wilmeth.
