Gamer Limit review: Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony

Gamer Limit writes "The Ballad of Gay Tony is more than just a bargain expansion: it's the single best game add-on available on Xbox Live. In fact, baring any huge surprises in the next two months, it's the best 360 exclusive of 2009"

True Fulish, I think that Uncharted 2 makes this DLC and of course the whole game of GTA IV seem like old technology.

1.4 - I'll tell you guys straight up. THE LOST AND DAMNED WAS SOO MUCH BETTER.
I wish I didnt even bother with this one. It felt really short and nothing impressed me about it. To me the only funny descent thing was the dancing at the night clubs. For some reason I found myself really bored playing it. The Lost and damned was much more developed imo.

It would be cool if this did go to PC or PS3 but thats not going to happen. I'm a big GTA fan and this was one of the reasons I chose to go with the 360 first and get a PS3 later. The final mission in this game is one of the best experiences I have had in gaming. I don't want to be an a-hole spoil it for any one but the final mission reminded me of shootouts in Gears going from cover to cover. Those who don't own a 360 you should look into ebay for one used or if you're tech savvy get a broken one for about $25 and repair it yourself in about an hour.

I'm looking forward to picking up this in the Episodes... bundle that's been released. I just need to find more time in the day so I can actually play it!

Sounds like you're not willing to sit through and play something that is more of the same but with a different story that didn't have much put into it. It seems like 2K is controversial so that they can gain some sales and be criticized.

Love it so far, definitely better than Lost and Damned. Rockstar needs to get back to their roots, and this is a step in the right direction IMO.

As I mentioned above those roots would be, being controversial, right?

I'll pick this up if the disc can be played without the original GTA 4.

Hell, 6 hours SP in modern Warfare 2 refuses PS3 owners from buying the game, although MW2 is known for its online experience.

12 hours DLC for 25 bucks is also overpriced.

So what would be fair for ya? Oh i know... just great graphics, everything else you dont care about ps3boys.

Hell the liberty city stories sold so good.. MS did really a great job woth R*. Iam sure that the next GTA will also have some exclusiv stuff for the 360.

The only good things about Gay Tony are the new weapons and some of the missions.

As far as stories go its by far the worst in the entire GTA series. For starters you play as a generic latino thug who has very little involvement in GTA 4/Lost and Damned and almost zero personality. They should have chosen someone like Packie, Dwayne, etc. Someone who was already established and actually mattered. You also work for ridiculous and unfunny characters like Yusuf Amir, Armando, Morie, etc., There are way too many terrible attempts at humor and Luis just comes off as a Scarface wannabe joke.

Gay Tony is the only semi-likeable character but all of his over-the top flamboyant friends are just too much to handle. Why does Rockstar feel compelled to turn these games into comedies now? First the totally pointless and stupid male nudity in Lost and Damned (which was otherwise excellent) and then an entire game centered around flamboyant homos.

Of all the things Rockstar could have done, (they even could have brought back anyone from III since it still takes place in Liberty City) they chose this. What a terrible waste.
