God of War III demo performance analysis

I went to Gamestop yesterday and told the guy that I ordered the ultimate pack online. He put his hand behind the counter and pulled out a stack of demo vouchers. I got one without him asking for ID or anything. If you live near the Palisades Mall, that's the one I went to. If anyone doubts me I'll upload a pick of the voucher.

Holy crap the fanboys are running loose.
This article says only positive things about the demo but fanboys still bash the blog. Cant wait for god of war 3 its one of the few reasons i kept my ps 3 my little brother is the other one its a way for him to play online.

If this is the same build used in E3, that build could have been created before E3 so theres months between that build and now.

What I watched I was pretty impressed with. Especially considering that a couple months before U2's release there was a sudden jump in texture quality which was apparently due to a new update releasing more ram as the OS too up less. The E3 demo was before that so theres still more room for improvement.

Gven that this is a build 10 months from release, remembering the jump we saw in that time for KZ2 ect:

I think its fair to say that the final game will look pretty special. At the very least right up there with uncharted 2 but due to the colour scheme it will never look as pleasing, even if it is technically superior.

Also, I don't think they have even gotten to the point where they are going back and tightening up all the code to keep the game at that 60 fps mark, they're just now finishing getting everything in place; then comes the polish.

The greatest part about a game like this though, is even IF the frame rate were inconsistent, it doesn't really matter. With shooters though, where a steady frame rate means the difference between getting that headshot with the last bullet in your clip and your "life" is hanging in the balance, it matters, not when you're bludgeoning everything to death with the Blades of Chaos/Athena so much.

DEMO SOON!!! (I'd rather have this demo than Mod War 2)

How come some people get so upset when someone says something that goes against their views ?? I was one of the lucky 'you got a god of war 3 demo download' and yes it looks great and has some brilliant moments but at the end of the day its a button basher :/ Not saying its not going to be a great game, it looks brill but still involves mashing buttons .

I played the demo 3 times yesterday. My friend at gamestop gave me one of the E3 promotional codes you get with reserving the game. (You also get a costume that depicts the original concept art of Kratos... SO GO RESERVE IT NOW!!)

Biggest Graphical feature: Character models... by far. Textures at times look pretty nice due to an extreme light source that may go off, but other times, they can be extremely flat, not to mention this color pallet is >extremely< gray... but, as mentioned, it is the E3'09 build, so it's expected to not be blow-your-mind amazing.

Wow i cant wait for this game. right now i have tekken 6 in my ps3 and its not leaving until GoW3. I wonder why is there humans living on the titan. the part where he was climing the edge. and who's skeleton soldiers are those. shouldnt there be better looking enemies considering he is fighting Gods and only like 2 control the dead. eh oh wells i cant wait for this damn game. i didnt pre-order the collection because i see no logic in buying something twice. lol i can wait for the whole game instead of a tease.

in an interview 1 guy did say it has frame rate proplems. this is because they put 20 bad guys in 1 fight scene. therefor the ps3 could not handle 20 guys all at the same time.but apart from that the rest of the game runs fine.im still getting it anyway.

I find the graphics and gameplay to be SUPERB. This game is BEYOND excellent and if you loved the first 2, I don't see why anyone wouldn't love the 3rd (especially if this old demo is anything to go by)

The only issue i have (which is slight considering the game doesn't release for another 4 months and can be ironed out, is the framerate. It doesn't seem as smooth as say Uncharted 2 or Metal gear Solid 4. Once they iron that out, this game will be MONSTROUS.

The graphics, lighting, and gameplay are ALL top notch. I love how Kratos becomes covered in blood after flying and ripping apart the harpies are removing the eye from the cyclops before dealing with Helios. Great demo indeed. I may go back and play it AGAIN

And it seems to be a pretty decent one at that. God of War will be a day one purchase for me and anyone else who is a diehard fan of the series.

Unless they delete the current content and decide to smear turds all over the screen, they've got my $60.
