@Jamie, I believe they recently removed the cap for XBLA. I would love to see some of the Dreamcast games appear on PSN, especially Shenmue.

@Jamie
XBL cap is now 2GB I believe.

I'd love some Dreamcast games on the PSN. I'd want:
Shenmue
Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage
Power Stone 1 & 2
Illbleed (looked interesting)

1.4 - I would rather use...
the 360 controller to play these games. I still have a dreamcast and I still play those games alot. I never got over Sega scrapping the project. :(

Anyways, Sega would be fools not to bring these games to PSN. New sales from Dead games? whats not to love?

@major tom(below): its N4G, its not supposed to make sense. that would defy the very logic of being a fanboy, lol. remember, if Sony isnt king in EVERY aspect of life---then youre wrong.

Sure the placement of the sticks and buttons might have been similar but the D-Pad on the DC controller was WAY better then the 360's.

The article makes no mention of Xbox...mmmmm

Why should Dreamcast games only come to PS3? XBLA would be more than happy to have them considering many former Dreamcast games (Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, and Jet Set Radio) were released on the Xbox. The controller also IS more similar; adding another reason why I think Xbox is a spiritual successor to the Dreamcast.

Also, argue all you want, the PS2 killed the Dreamcast; kinda ironic that all the best Dreamcast IP's SHOULD/MUST/HAVE/NEED to come to the Playstation. Why with all these ridiculous "Why X game needs to come to the Playstation 3? articles. Did someone forget a demographic? Me thinks so.

1.13 - Actually, MS killed the DreamCast.
XBoxLive was supposed to be "DreamCast Live" or something like that.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

You will note that MS worked with Sega for two years to make the operating system for the DreamCast, then suddenly they announced their own system shortly after the DreamCast was released... which was before the DreamCast was even released in the US. Between Sega's reputation for not supporting their consoles over 1-2 years, and MS's announcement of an upcoming console, consumers lost all faith in the DreamCast before it even hit the streets in the US.

3 - please don't just dump it on us
please take the time to redo it a little. Liek GoW at least, or remake it all together...there is not that many DC games, shouldn't be a problem reviving selected titles.

4 - It is ironic how Sony put Sega out of the hardware bussiness
and now they have a good relationship software wise, Sega is delivering the Goods, and Dreamcast games on PSN would be icing the cake, well that is what i get from many Dremcast fans around here

to be honest sega was struggline before the dreamcast, the saturn was pretty much a fail outside of japan.

That is a common misconception. In reality, strong competitors were only a small part of Sega's problems by the time the Dreamcast was discontinued.

4.3 - thx for the heads up
At least Sony slam the door for Sega in the console business. You guys are right, the Saturn fiasco put Sega in deep troubles, and the Dreamcast was the Dreamcast and the end of Sega consoles.
How would it be if instead of MS competing in the high def, online arena against Sony, it were Sega against Sony? One can only wonder...

7 - Why not
Bring them to both 360 and PS3, that seems to be a better financial move, and I think even if sega needs to move all of it's future projects to both stores because it's failing on hardware sales.

1st dude got 20 disagrees and that many people haven't even commented on this story. LOL

for the uninformed the dude who designed the 360 controller had a hand in desinging the 360 controller.

Also what's wrong with them supporting both psn and xbl? Sega get's revenue from both platforms and at the same time can appease former sega fanboys on either side of this gen's console divide. It's a win win situation in my mind so long as they don't fall for that exclusive crap that has plagued this gen. xbl version of a game get's early demo, psn version get's extra level crazy crap like that just release the same game with the same demo on both platforms at the same time. Of course some people will be angry just for the sake of being angry but the majority should be pleased.

I don't understand why they can't also bring the titles to the 360? As far as I am aware, the 360 and the Dreamcast have a similar heritage in many ways, in fact didn't the Dreamcast run on a special version of Windows CE?
Not that there's anything wrong with the PS3/PSN at ALL, I'm simply saying that there's no real benefit to porting an old classic to just one platform. Its not like you'd REALLY be able to take advantage of it if it was just a simple port and both consoles are more than capable of good up-scaling.

11.1 - I guess
I'm still waiting for Ikagura on PSN. I wonder why it hasn't been released yet. I know it's not made by SEGA but like Shenmue, they should've released it on both.

I believe it's the potential the sega games could have in japan territory since there are more PS3's.

I also thought of something else, if the sega fanbase went from dreamcast to xbox (assuming they just hated sony and nintendo at that time) would it split the xbox community/fanbase?
