CrimeCraft in Trouble?

Vogster Entertainment, the developers behind the recently released MMORPG CrimeCraft, have announced a new subscription structure for CrimeCraft.

"Obviously sales and subscription numbers are not meeting expectations. CrimeCraft was only released a little over a month ago on Aug 25th, so to see this kind of promotion this early on you know the game is in trouble."

1.2 - APB will be better
APB is 1000 times better looking. Crimecraft I have tried. Its crap. That is why its failing. Besides APB offers lots more variety and more open experience. A town pretty much with up to 100 players per area and 1000 or so citizens in each area as well. Cars and missions to go through as well. Crimecraft has one little lobby you run around in and select missions with no vehicles, and little battle lobbies with up to 4v4 or 6v6 gameplay. Compare that to APB and its crap.

2 - Well
Their first problem is only selling the game exclusively at 2 retailers. Not being on other store's shelves (like Walmart) severely limits their audience.

Best Buy and Walmart are really the only places that have the ability to sell PC games in North America. GameStop/EB Games for instance don't do very well in the PC category.

On the Giant Bomb podcast they said the developers realized most of their sales would come digitally and not retail so that had something to do with it.

I personally haven't tried CrimeCraft but I'm seeing a lot of APB comparison, I might give it a go as it could be a cool game to either help pass the time until APB or even compliment it.

True, having it exclusive to Best buy was probabl not the best option.

I've been playing since the closed beta, and while the game does have its issues, it is still a lot of fun.

Nitpickers will always find something to complain about, but I suggest you try it out, especially if it's going to be free.
