I don't know where you got the impression that they had a major dispute with Sony. The link you provided in fact says the opposite.

Headline of the link you provided:
"Ninja Theory: Sony relations 'Completely Amicable'"

Definition of amicable: "characterized by or showing goodwill; friendly; peaceable:"

The article is in fact a DEBUNKING of a stupid rumor that Kotaku started.

"cut that unreal engine crap"

What???

You don't like rigid low poly characters that look like they are made out of shiny plastic?

Or having everything not in the immediate foreground look like it is smeared with Vaseline?

i wish if Sony gives SCE Studios Santa Monica the green light to make the next heavenly sword

i mean since they are f*ckin awesome in hack and slash games

just make the next heavenly sword with a GOW twist
and you'll get you an EPIC game

3.1 - Well
The story goes as follows- Heavenly sword was initially developed for the 360 when the comepany was just add monsters, MS refused and it then went to Sony who agreed on the concept but the point that the entire community overlooked was the amount of support they got from Sony, the game could and would not have been such a mammoth title had it not been for SCEE who helped them craft the title both visually and in terms of gameplay mechanics...

Are you saying the Ninja Theory devs are incapable doing their own engine or even modifying an existing one? Batman: Arkham Asylum ran on the Unreal 3 engine and that looked really good, possibly the best looking Unreal 3 game to date.

Bioshock 1&2, Mass Effect 1&2. Other examples of UE games that look really good.

4 - Could the game hit the PC???
unreal engine..? then there is a chance that the game will come to PC also besides the Xbox 360 and PS3. Also, Ninja Theory make visually appealing games but their gameplay is of moderate quality. Maybe, with Unreal3 they could get a real AAA title.

It depends on the publisher you know, though Namco Bandai have not published too many PC games....

great, so no Heavenly Sword 2 so they can jump on the UE3 Shooter Train..

Yeah that's going to blow up in their face.. I believe sony owns the IP and doesnt need ninja theory to continue the series, i say sony should lock in a new developer for the series now before ninja theory comes back with their legs between their legs.

Ahh Ninja Theory. Why are you so intent on going backwards, just when the rest of the world seems to be moving forwards?

Ps3fanboy in a nutshell.
To him its moving backwards to offer games to more people, and breaking into a new market to increase profit.

Xbox fanboy is a nutshell. Prefers an old multiplaform engine, in its twilight years, to a purpose built propriety engine tailored for specific hardware.

Face it, exclusive games are usually better, especially on PS3. And NT's enginge is better than Unreal as well, so yes, I see it as a step backwards. Maybe even 2 or 3 steps.

It seems like going to sleep when eveyone else is waking up.

What do you mean by "exclusive games are usually better, especially on PS3". Sounds like your own subjective opinion to me. 360 exclusives like Halo 3 and Gears of War have a much bigger fanbase and more online activity than PS3 exclusives like LBP or Killzone 2.

Because i defend a MULTI engine, i am a fanboy?
Why dont you go back to sleep, you seem tired.

And because he defends a great engine and exclusive game he's a fanboy? The fact is NT's engine is better than UE3 and you are just a tool. Man you always accuse people of being fanboys and you just have no logic.

How does having a bigger fan base make them better games?
Shadow of the Colossus has no where near the fan base it deserves, since it is a completely astonishing game on all levels, should it not then by your standards have a Halo 3 type following, there are a lot more PS3 owners than 360 owners, shouldn't it sell like hot cakes?

The 360 is aimed at ONE audience, namely teens around the age of 18, and while there is NOTHING wrong with that it will ultimatly affect sales, teens buy more games, the PS3 has an older audience that might not have as much time or interest to play as much on their console which unfortunately for Sony means less sales. MS was smart on targeting the right demographic from the git-go, Sony is only recently doing that.

Since Ninja theory said their next game would be multi, it would indeed be better to use Unreal engine 3.0.
Since getting a license for it is probably cheaper and less time consuming then making their heavenly sword engine multi platform.

@the complainers.
I dont hear you people compain about Batman.
And how many of you are begging for Mass effect 2 on the ps3, which is also Unreal 3.0.

The unreal engine looks nice and Batman runs smoothly on it. But too many developers use it making all games look the same graphically I want Heavanly Sword 2 on the Killzone 2 engine or even the Resitance 2 engine.

Dude, compare batman to mass effect, gears and Bioshock, they look nothing alike.
its just that a lot of developers choose for a generic art style and animation.

Their games will end up looking generic anyway, no matter what engine they use.

I don't think it's Heavenly Sword 2, so whatever suit themselves. Batman:AA proved that Unreal Engine 3.0 works fine on both consoles.

Well, Arkham Asylum is UE3 and I think it looks pretty good.

@ 10 I didn't even read your comment before I posted and looks like we have the same thought. The only problem I saw with Batman was a few jaggies, but nothing major. I've been playing the game since I bought it and it's one of the best games this generation.

I don't see why they would. The Heavenly Sword engine is a hundred times better. I'm interested to see what their next game will be like, and hopefully it's longer than Heavenly Sword. I doubt it will be a sequel to that though.

15 - Why not Heavenly Sword engine....
Read the article properly guys. The new game is slated to be "Multi-platform". Unless you want Heavenly Sword engine to run on the 360.....

you get my point?
