Giving 'The Eye Of Judgment' A Whirl

This is the video of an upcoming PS3 eye-toyish game, Eye of Judgement. As MTV points out, it's a cross between virtual-reality and Star Wars Chess. And it looks like a little Magic the Gathering may be thrown in for good measure. From any perspective the visuals are amazing. This one screams innovation.

i first saw this thing in gameone's coretechs & it shocked me. its like things we see in sci-fic movies. i think this can work well with other things except for card games. another point for PS3...ummmm...unless M$ doesnt go on copying it

5 - Its definately interesting.

Not my sort of game but imagine the possible implications here. The camera is a much better motion tracking device than either the 6ax or the Wiimote. 1st person Jedi game please with full tracking lightsaber and gesture recognition force powers.

6 - Release?

This summer was it? I like this kind of idea. Monsters and magic mixed in a game like this. There will be a new level of interaction and feel with the motionsensing camera.

WotC making cards to it can't be a bad thing either.

I wont say it will be an instant smash hit, but it surely has potential to be one!

Honestly, I don't think Sony is going to lower the price of the ps3 this year because you can add this as another cool thing that will justify the price tag for the ps3. I've seen this game before and I thought it was cool but after seeing all the realtime interaction... wow!

9 - There's only two problems I see with this

One is the huge counterfeit card market this will most likely spawn. Even worse than with Magic the Gathering because everyone will want to see the graphics.
Two is the huge buy in cost to play this game. Collectible trading card games are traditionally big budget busters already. Add in that need to buy the PS3 and PSeye plus the video game and your looking at easily a grand just to play your first game.

I'd love to play this with my friends when it comes out but I'm the only one who owns a PS3. There's no way they can afford to buy in on it :/

I'm glad they've got some new media out there on this one, it's coming togther really well far beyond the earlyer demonstrations that were impressive, this is going to do wonders for things especially in Japan were they eat this kind of thing up, really innovative can't wait for everyone to see the other eye toy games...

This would be a huge hit if they can get the rights to Yu-gi-oh ( Im not sure if Nintendo has it already) this is the type of thing yu-gi-oh the card game would shine at.

i really hope this game is online, my deck vs yours. i use to love playing magic . this doesnt look as deep but it looks fun. buying magic cards got expensive, i hope booster packs are decently priced or i while be "boot legging" EoJ cards. im a wizard at making scan bars and the system on these while be very simple because they have to register through the eyetoy. either way im ready to play
