Pure 2 Was in Development, Now Canceled?

Blackrock Studios' 2008 racing game Pure found tremendous critical success. So much so, that it appears that there were plans, at least initially, for a sequel. However, according to a blog post by a former Blackrock Studios employee, Pure 2 was canceled by Disney some time in 2009.

Pure was a good game, but it's an arcade racer, you may or may not like it.
I did like it, didn't get into the game fully. Demo seriously impressed me.

But why the hell do they wanna make PurE 2? what ideas would they possibly add? But it's good they are making Split Cum/Second. I can't wait for that beastly game!

I liked Pure a lot, especially after the trophy patch which made me try out different styles I normally wouldn't.
My favorite was for pulling off a triple backflip. Something I thought impossible until I saw a trophy for it.

4 - I liked pure a lot
Probably the best ATV game to date.
Although, I feel like if it was a little less arcadey, they could have made it's replay value higher.

9 - There's dire need for pure 2 yeah baby
We need more games like Pure,I'm still impressed with the graphics it's amazin. Pure is like SSX with 4 wheelers,we need more SSX games too. The tricks and jumps are wild and fun and that's how it should be.Just because the graphics are life like doesn't mean the gameplay has to be the same. I like arcade style, it seems a lot games are trying to simulate real life and who cares is their life that bad(that's probably not the correct their) but anyway games to me are supposed to be for fun and tearing it up,in a good way. I really hope they get around to making Pure 2,the first one was great and second would be better. Pure does have very smooth frame rate and controls. The only thing to add would be replays and have a timer you could adjust for freestyle events instead of a gas tank. They could add that to Pure 2 along with more and longer tracks and better graphics although the graphics are beautiful in the first one. They really don't have to always add something new like some people think, that's what I get kind of tired of. I really hope Pure 2 gets made it would sell great and it would be great,it makes sense to make it,it wouldn't be a side show. WE NEED MORE COOL GAMES LIKE PURE.
