Video game allows players to shoot gays

Gay groups are outraged over a video game where the object is to shoot gay men before they 'rape' the player.
The game, called 'Watch out behind you, Hunter' and created by Frenchman Stéphane Aguie, is hosted by a Georgian website called Uzinagaz and was actually launched in 2002.

It is banned in France, but it is not banned in the ex-Soviet country where it is hosted, or in the UK. It involves going through the jungle and shooting any nudists who come out of the bushes. If they are to reach you before you shoot them then they rape you, an act which is shown in the game.

There are games which allow you to shoot Muslims/Christians/Jews/etc. (religious persecution), dogs/cats/birds (animal rights violations), politicians and celebrities, and of course there are games where you can shoot strippers and hookers.

So. it's okay to shoot heterosexuals but not gays? Talk about being too sensitive...

Personally, I wouldn't play this game, but that's because it likely sucks, not because it offends my sensibilities.

Though I have agreed with many of your statements in the past this one is utterly ridiculuous. The point is, any game targetting a specific group, whether its based on solely race, religion, or sexual orientation should be banned. Now I did not find Resident Evil 5 to be wholly offensive given the circumstances of the game's setting in Africa, but this game clearly represents ignorance and hatred towards gay people and has no qualms about it. It portrays gay men as sexual predators out to rape people in the ass. Now that's a load of bullshi'. You then have to shoot their guts to stop them.

Your comparison to shooting hereros is crap as well, given that there aren't any games that solely focus on killing men who like women, and if there were , hell that'd be a crap game as well. GTA for example does not discriminate in who you kill, as you can shoot any bystander on the street. Other shooters have you kill Nazis, aliens, demons, or terrorists who have basis to kill. Gay people, however are not equivalent to said characters, especially with this homophobic characterization.

But whatever, it's probably a crap game on all fronts, subject matter and gameplay.

I am not a Gay basher or anything like that. I am actually netural when it comes to this subject but to some extent i find it funny that the gay community would be up and arms about this. By kikicking up a fuss we now know about this game.

It would be no different if its about a guy trying to rape a girl and the girl is the one doing the shooting. None of us straight guys would be offended. Now imagine the name for such a game. There are fewer lawyers than there are non-lawyers... say have been subject to many jokes and hatred over the years.

I am just tired of these articles highlighting these games. Rapelay is a perfect example of this, released in 2006 but simply fell off the radar by writing these articles you draw attention to the game and means more people download and play it.

I am strangely offended by the word gay I much prefer homosexual so I could write and article on how Gay Armania is homophobic... actually no the word homophobic is stupid, they are not affraid of homosexuals they dislike them so does that mean these pro-gay groups are homophobicphobic? I don't mind people sexuality but so long as they don't force opinions on me, give me the information and allow me to make up my mind. Now these groups don't do much to help homophobia. One of the main arguments wher ethat homosexuality is natural and I'm fine by that but these groups only generalize homosexuality by having these bright colours and various things such as flowers etc they further the generalization and can even alienate certain homosexuals who prehaps are slightly less out there and as colourful but homosexual and confident none the less. These groups can even be giving a bad name.

Now you didn't expect that a fairly decent retort I like o think of myself fairly open minded but I'll let you judge that.
