This is just a genius move...why not bundle the PS3 with the 2 most visually appealing and front running games. Now everyone that gets a ps3 is SURE to see the work of GG and Konami.

Im surprised it was not MGS4 and Uncharted...since they're both great visually and great games of the earlier releases...but then I realized Uncharted doesnt have an online community, so Killzone is the best candidate.

having the tag brutally honest you should be able to admit that ps3 exclusives dont sell well, and for that fact need to be bundled. not mgs, but killzone was a flop. i know it sold 1 million copies, but i would love to see the percentage of people who returned kz within the first month(not me). if you have been online for kz lately you would realize thats its pretty much a dying community.

i dont seem to remember xbox bundling gears or halo?? i know that there were special xbox editions for both, but i know the halo edition didnt come with a game(cause i own it). xbox exclusives sell well without bundles.

It's true, the hardcore exclusives only appeal to the hardcore gamer. If they bundle it with a console then at least it will sell even if the owner doesn't want to play it.

BTW, the Halo 3 bundle didn't actually come with the game. Which is GREAT, since it proves that all of its sales were from people who went out and bought the game.

Yeah when I first saw this I was thinking they might as well of just put the price tag @ 299.99 which would probably bring in more people to buy it, and then it's pretty much a given that anyone who enjoys gaming will buy those 2 games..
This is a great deal no doubt, but there are still some people out there like someone already mentioned that will still just look at the 400 dollar price tag (even though simple math will show them this is an amazing deal).

I get your point but you don't need to be so blunt as to assume that every exclusive is a flop if they're bundled.

There's no point in trying to compare PS3 exclusives and how well they sell with the 360's seeing how the top sellers are pretty much nothing but FPS's.

The 360 has an FPS fanbase to it, so anything with a gun, and blood they'll practically eat up. It's a no brainer.

On the other hand, KZ2 did have a great release and has sold quite a lot...so I really don't see where "flop" comes into play. Don't forget that Killzone had to re-cleanse themselves after the first one failed back in the PS2 days.

Nice bundle smells like desperation to me specially bundling in KZ2 with it. I bet you Sony thought they were going to sell over 3 million of KZ2 so they made all these game disc that hasn't moved so what else do you do to a game that doesn't sell that well? @jaces- last time I checked Gears 1 or 2 isn't a FPS and that has sold over 7 million copies. GTA4 sold better on the 360.. Madden, FIFA, NBA games sell better on the 360, Ninja Gaiden has sold over a million so has Halo Wars, Fable 2 sold over a million too.. So yeah there goes your arguement of 360 owners just being FPS fans..

it was labeled a flop because every PS3 fanboy on the internet said it was going to sell 3 million copies the first week, completely stop 360s sales, was as big as the second coming of Jesus christ, labeled as the Halo killer, will bring tears to 360 fanboys eyes etc etc..Of course none of that came true which wasn't the games fault it was the PS3 fanboys. The game itself is good but not great. Also if you look at overhype in the dictionary you will have KZ2 right next to it..

People say that Halo3 is over hype which I tend to agree with but over 10 million copies sold and still the one of the top games on Xbox live 2 years later.. I hate Halo and do think its overhyped but its hard to give the "overhype" stamp on a game that many people still enjoy.

Yes Halo3 and Fable 2 was bundled with the 360 but that was after halo3 sold 10 million copies and had been out on the market for more than 2 years. Fable 2 being an RPG game and we all know no RPG games sell unless it has the title Final Fantasy!!

All we are saying its sad that the for sure 3 million + seller in its first week, best FPS in console history with the best graphics as proclaimed by PS3 fans is now being given away for free!

No need to go raging into the PS3 forums. Bundles are a great deal, whether they come with games like LBP or KZ2.

It's not an attempt to sell more games, it's an attempt to sell more units. Seeing how the PS3 slim is just around the corner, it makes sense with bundles like these.

I agree with KZ2 being a generic shooter. It brought nothing new to the table. Yes you controlled some turrets and it looked nice but that was it. None the less I still had fun with the single player. All the PS3 droids and all the 360 bots hate it but end result...It's just ok...Now if you're talking about Uncharted, well that is a different story.

see i didn't find killzone 2's gameplay generic at all. The cover mechanic brings in a whole new element to the fps genre. I know some people play it off as just a duck mechanic but it's so much more than that. That's honestly why i enjoyed the game so much, it's not just run and gun, jumping around to dodge bullets.
