This game does show promise. Infamous looked so boring and plain when Xplay had the gameplay episode of it. Like even the dev couldn't describe it without repeating everything and dodging questions.

It's from the developers of Incredible Hulk ultimate destruction, so I have faith it will be somewhat good.
As for infamous it did look like it could get redundant, same boring enemies and essentially 1 power.

just as cool as prototype trailer. Both are about gaining more powers as you progress. It's just that Infamous hasn't shown anything but around 1 st or second level.

btw, Prototype looked boring to me when they showed on x-play a long time ago, but they have improvements and shown new stuff in the trailer, so my excitement for the game is back up.

In fairness comparing the Prototype and Infamous, it will all depend on the execution of the two games. We have not seen a real time gameplay of a person playing Prototype like how it was done with Infamous. It's all about how you present videos and trailers... think about it.

Just judging from videos, inFamous is a slower paced game, much like an open world shooter with action elements. On the other hand, Prototype seems faster, with an emphasis on over-the-top action and movement elements.

when this game first came out it seemed like i was the one of the few that were looking forward to it...

Now, that it has a ps3 exclusive to be compared against, everybody loves prototype...

don't believe me? look at some early '08 / '07 news from this game, read the forums...

That tank driving part just didn't seem to fit, like graphically something changed. Can't place my finger on it though.

8.1 - I would only assume that graphically, the game has improved, but I believe it's a matter of perspective
The visual angle for the tank in this clip was pulled back more and at a higher angle compared to the earlier clips, if I'm not mistaken.

The Sly Cooper developers vs. the Hulk: Ultimate Destruction developers. Is that really a contest?

Prototype does look really fun...but just about as fun as a game like that can be. InFamous looks like an epic with a deep storyline, non-repetitive gameplay, and all-around fun elements.

That's like saying SCEJ shouldn't be criticized because Sony Santa Monica made God of War. It makes no sense.

EDIT TO MY BELOW COMMENT: Devil's Advocate is only fun if you can play the part right. You're failing miserably. Blizzard and Activision may add a couple of new people, but they didn't fire everyone and start from scratch. Guerrilla Games may as well be "Random New Studio". Do you see my point? This game looks fun...but it also looks extremely repetitive. What makes you think it won't be?

After watching this trailer I think Prototype looks better as well. Look at the running animation in INFamous. He runs like he's late to the toilet. Looks silly. Not only that, I also think the action in Prototype looks much faster and much more large scale than in INFamous.

Considering that Radical Entertainment has a considerable list of mediocre games and no real "gems", I have to agree with Leon. It's not the same kind of comparison. With over 30 titles under Radical's name, not a whole lot of them were really all that great. Yet the main thing to keep in mind here is that Guerrilla only has four games on their list, one of which still is not released. And to add, KZ:L is a pretty well received PSP game, and overall it's pretty fun IMO.

That aside, I think Prototype looks a large amount better than it did before. In terms of qualirty, I don't think Prototype will be bad by any means, but I think if we are comparing Prototype to inFAMOUS, I think inFAMOUS will be the better game by a decent margin, and I will be getting both regardless.

13.3 - you aren't taking into account something very important.
I think this is only the second title they are making after being acquired by activision.

I still think it's ludicrous for you both to think that just because a company, who's never really been tested in any way to push their games, will fail.

This is their first major effort in this gen, and, while their games aren't amazing, they weren't especially horrible either.

Also, this game looks far less repetitive than infamous. Even if you compare both trailers, they could barely fit all the features in Prototype's whole trailer.

I find it interesting how people want to compare this game and infamous more and more while each time we see more of each game they look less and less similar -_-

If there was any question before hell this trailer made it MORE clear that Prototype is going in a completely different direction than Infamous

Though, the framerate still needs work. I think both this and Infamous will be great, because though they are both open-roaming games, they have different gameplay styles and storylines. What this has going for it over inFamous is that it looks like in Protoype you can enter vehicles. I don't think you can do that in inFamous, which is a tad disappointing. Anyway, I hope it pans out well. I all but forgot about this game, and it's nice they are still on track.

It will be an interesting battle between Infamous & Prototype. Graphically as of now Infamous looks better technically, like the whole lightening and character models and stuff. But thats not to say Prototype looks any bad.
Secondly in my opinion prototype has different types of powers, while Infamous only has variation of electrical power. Which is a +1 in my books if done correctly.
Lastly the storyline looks pretty awesome in both games, but I think what I like about Infamous more is that it is taking a different comical approach towards cutscenes, while Prototype has the usual in game cutscenes.
Plus Prototype is a much more visceral, brutal game then Infamous & I am probably seeing this game getting banned in Australia :(
Which game I am hyped about most, I don't know the both look great to me, & i will most probably be getting both.
