why the hell do we only hear news like this when Halo 3 is on top? Why not talk about the 32 weeks cod4 was on top of halo 3, or the 4 weeks halo3 was the 4th most played game on xbl (Behind Cod5, Gears2, Cod4)! To me it seems like some fanboy crap.

Gaming "news" is a joke.

(And the best part of Halo 3 was the video recorder. More games need to start implementing such an awesome feature. GG Bungie.)

Yah that is why Halo is the most popular franchise of the last 2 generations. Because it is worse than Gears 2 and R2. I have played R2. Not that great. Is an awesome game, and it will continue to be played by a loyal fanbase. It could be topped by Gears 2, but it suffers horribly by lag and broken matchmaking. Until a game comes out that can add some way a video feature and be quick and efficient in matchmaking, then the game won't be topped anytime soon. I did a little research (I know too much time on my hands) and I found out on average I could play 6 rounds of Halo 3 games compared to 3 of Gears 2. It's that bad. And with the update, I didn't notice a change at all. And I won't talk about Resistance 2, I don't have it yet.

I played COD4 for awhile and it was fun but after awhile it just got really old. "Oh look, another airstrike on my position....I'm dead...Oh look, a helicopter, I'm dead....oh look, just double-killed two chumps who both had martyrdom...I'm dead." There are too many cheap ways to kill someone in COD4 and too many noobs playing it.

I'm playing Halo 3 again. Sony fanboys just love to hate on Halo because it put the Xbox ahead of the Playstation. They're just bitter that they don't have a multiplayer FPS of Halo's caliber on their own system so they talk trash.

I'll respond since you took the time to ask.

I don't "hate" Halo. Far from it. What I "hate" are Halo fanboys who think its the end all be all of FPS, and refuse to acknowledge other games in the genre that have pioneered and been just as popular. Coexistence is a term foreign to these silly fools.

As for the games themselves, I agree. I LOVE the universe, the mythology, the history, the sountrack. My biggest beef with the series is that I felt, overall, the single player campaign declined into rehash and mediocrity as the series progressed. I just felt 3 wasn't the epic ending it could have been. Halo itself should be commended for bringing FPS even further than Goldeneye 007 did, and for making the XBox a serious contender in the console wars. I just think they could have done more with it.

I have no issues with the MP, I think it has refined nicely over the years. Any issues I have with the MP portion are chalked up to Live services (wait between games, matchmaking, etc) and not the game itself. Bungie knows balance, and I LOVE the video recording feature, and wish more FPS would implement it now that HDDs are standard.

But yeah, anyone that "hates" on ANY series is just jealous, or ignorant. Pay them no mind man, especially on this site.

and halo odst is one of if not my top most anticipated titles next year, i love bungie, i love the ambiance and feel to their games, i really dont care about GOW3, or killzone 2 ( i am in the beta, and i guess i am the only one that thinks its boring) or all the other exclusives, i just want ff13, VS, WKC, and mostly Halo ODST.

man i wanted to get into that game but the story was quite frankly written for mongoloids, its a graphical power house, but the story in the first one is sooo forgetable, i beat it in one sitting and never looked back, as a matter of fact i cant even tell you what the story was about, so forgetable. It was fun to play i guess, but story is soo important with me, i can see why ppl like it for its fun factor, buti got kinda irritated when ign gave gears2 the better story over halo??? thats the opposite of what should have happened. Why are we talking about gears again?

Wait Live has been down once in 5(almost 6) years, and that is unreliable? Oh I know that last Christmas was terrible for the people it effected. It didn't effect everyone, but I will still say that it was down, since it did effect so many people.

Comparing 12 million users load on XBLive with 4 million PSN (PS3) users. We'll see if ever PSNs PS3 number ever reaches 10million how much reliable it will remain.

NOw go and play R2 and try to find 3 more buddies to play with. I can still play COD4 with 17 other players within seconds of joining a server.
