I still play MMO's, but casually. I have a real good balance of social obligations and otherwise.
GG for me. xD
(Plus I play mostly Privates instead of retail, so it's easy on the wallet.)
I think when you don't pay for it, you don't feel the need to justify your purchase.
(This sh!t costs me 15$ a month, I better play all day to make it worth it.)

Unfortunately I still occassionally succumb to the allure of an MMORPG. My time in the game usually goes like this..

First month... Cool, this is fun

3rd month... OK, so I'm still killing 5 million of the same enemy and doing pointless quests that lead nowhere - but if I just hit another level the 'good stuff' will open up.

6th month... OK, so now I'm killing 10 million of the same enemy with a different skin and made a little bigger. And there's no quests left to do, but if I wait around long enough maybe another 30-40 people will join with me so we can slay a boss again and again and again in the vain hope I may get the last piece of some uber gear.

12th month... OMFG! I just wasted a year of my life playing a game with no story, no ending and nothing that makes me unique from the other suckers doing the same quests, killing the same bosses, and progressing the same pointless story arcs.

Quit, while muttering that I'll never play one of these damn games again.

6 months later... Repeat.

lol MMOs can be addictive but if it was me and i had to pay for an MMO id play it more to get my money worth but i dont really play them anyway. and sure who cares what your gf thinks or bf they they dont like it they know where to go :D

i have known more than five people here in college who have been under probation just because instead of going to class they were playing WoW (all of them played Wow). That's just crazy $h!t
