For the record I want to say that HOME is going to be good. It is not a game it is a community and it will soar in that respect. I have been in the 1.0 for only like 2 days and 1.0 has less to offer than the last beta version. That being said I have met alot of people who share my intrests in just 2 days my friends list has doubled. I am logging in just to see whats going on.

Also @ this story - Home is pretty good, surprisingly lag-free, but shopping center is completely dead, and the theatre takes a long time to load stuff.

1.15 - I have been in the BETA for nearly a year and a half

I must say this product is many times better than what was originally available. I think SONY is slowly working out the final quirks and seeing if it can successfully handle large amounts of people using it. The HOME 1.0 many of you have seen is nothing near what was available a week ago. Game rooms will be available that will be bonuses like Uncharted and others. The shopping area will have personalized stores with products from brands like Nike and they will have a speaker area where you will be able to watch live feeds from shows like E3... Not to mention the club room is a major step for those of us who have clans... I see a lot of potential here and I think the finished product will be something fun for everyone...

my beta invite came friday. there isn't much to do beyond customizing your character, but the environments are great and the potential is there.

i said in another post that i'm excited to have friends and relatives in my "apartment" voice chatting with our characters and launching a game, but I'm the only one I know that's in the beta.

my one beef is that every time i go in the damn bowling alley, there isn't a free lane or open pool table. come on...can't you increase the size of the bowling alley or something?

As Meus Renaissance said, most of the negative things that can be said about Home at this point are due to it's status as a beta. More than likely the bowling alley will increase in size, or else there will be more than one in the final version. The mall will actually have merchandise, and that music player people dance around will have more than 3 songs on it.

I'm just glad to get a sneak peek of Home.

Are shortsighted. They have no idea what this "SERVICE" is all about. I have HOME 1.0 and its awesome. Right now there is a lack of content but its to be expected. (cough) Beta (cough). The idea of HOME is a way to SOCIALIZE with gamers and meet NEW people. ANyone who thinks its more then this has been completely ignorant to what the idea was from the start.

Expect to see More and More,(Non-Social) reasons, for you to sign into HOME as time progresses. Theres already a thriving community and alot of people are hanging out enjoying the social aspect of gaming.

You see, places like Second Life and Lively are being less popular because people have the option to use it.
Home on the other hand is customary and will be used by many publishers, so indeed, I believe home will work brilliantly because people will always be on it because of the established consumer base of the PS3. Everyone won't suddenly abandon it, because if theres something exciting about Sony and the PS3 its updates, seeing whats new and since Home will grow over its existance, there hopefully will always be something new.

If this article came from IGN or Gamespot then maybe the article would hold some weight, but this is just an "opinion" from some random site.... as a matter of fact, I don't think that ANYTHING from goodfellajay has even been approved here on N4G before until now.

If anyone wants to talk about Epic failure, lets talk about the RROD and Microsoft failing to deliver a reliable product from the start.

HOME is a Free service and will add more to the Playstation community.

Ubisoft broadcasted their event Ubi-days in the HOME Beta earlier this year and the possibilities that can bring really are amazing. Just imagine being able to watch E3 or TGS LIVE from HOME.

i predicted the anti-Home articles would be inundated around this site...

i guess it just shows how much people are scared of Home... i know 360 fanboy's don't like to admit it and make up excuses

but they know that as Home gets updated and becomes more expansive... it's appeal will broaden to all kinds of gamers and that means a potential selling point for the PS3... in the way it promotes social play

Yeah Home can't compare to the gay rip off that comprises XNE. They can't even make your icon match you XNE avatar. And what does it really do at all? Is it a social gaming program? Nyet.

Meanwhile Home is everything such an interface should be. It isn't perfect but it does something the 360 can't - evolve. XNE isn't evolution, it's a sad attempt at a Wii clone. Every time I hear that stupid sound I think it's a Wii.

its a personal thing really, but at the end of the day i want a simple interface that is easy to use, i dont want all my gameing time taken up playing a sims wannabe game, bowling lol no thanks, i hated the sims so obviously the look of home doesnt appeal to me at all.

and no heyhey i dont think its anything for 360 owners to be scared of, infact why be scared of anything console related, thats just lame.
