Resident Evil 5: Both PS3 and 360 versions to look near identical.

From the latest gamingindians.com preview;

"As expected, Capcom's proprietary Framework engine churns out some gorgeous visuals. Chris' model in particular is superb with excellent attention to detail. Sadly, the frame rate in this particular build wasn't up to the mark. The level also suffered from a few V-sync (screen tearing) issues. Although we only got to play the PS3 version, both versions are expected to look nearly identical when released."

for me the Ps3 version because of one reason.

here's the similarities:

graphics - probably no difference
rewards - trophies and achievements, both teh same... unless home adapts them in some way.

but here's the reason:
The chris costume and possibly game room in HOME.

I currently love home, made alot of new friends today because of it.

Why choose the console with more friends? This is a co-op game of 2 people, you and 1 other person. If your friend you really want to play with has it for ps3 but you have more friends on live then why get it for the 360?

In this generation of games consoles, no games thus far has surprassed the experience of playing Halo 3 online for me personally. Halo is just incredible online, it never seems to get old (partly due to Bungies' excellent community support), although I have a sneaking feeling Killzone 2 could steal that crown, heres hoping.

It's hard to really decided this generation, since the games are so closely identical the only way to really justify your purchase is to get it on the system you play the most. I have both a ps3 and xbox360, and have a hard time choosing my self. Even though I play 360 more, I still feel like I'm going to be left out of the race.

Yep, it is hard. I find myself contemplating that when a big multiplatform game comes out. I usually buy mutiplayer focused games for 360 and single player focused games for PS3.

I caved in and bought Fallout 3 for 360, though. I wanted to have the version with slightly better visuals. I don't have a very good gaming computer, so 360 won my purchase. Even though the differences are slight, that game is beautiful. I wanted the best version I could get.

The PLAYSTATION®3 version will be the far more superior version. When it comes to multiplatform titles, the Xbox 360 version usually suffers from frame rate hiccups and jaggies, terrible draw distance and screen tearing. This is no coincidence as Xbox 360 is a console that struggles to keep up with the times of next generation entertainment.

He's full of sh1t and he knows it. The majority of multi-platform games look and/or perform better on the 360. This has been shown time and time again. A few multiplats manage to look nearly identical on both platforms (Burnout Paradise, COD4, etc.), but most look better on the 360. Everybody that is being honest with themselves knows this.

RIIIGHT! Gears 2 looks better than any game I have played on my Ps3 and that includes Uncharted and MGS4. You guys are living in denial. I can prove that I own both consoles, I wonder if you guys can. The reason I ask is because most people spouting that nonsense are ps3-only guys who haven't had close hands-on time with most 360 games. When you own both you tend to look at things more impartially and objectively. And by that criteria Gears 2 looks better than anything on the ps3.

I'll be getting this on the PS3. Don't wanna fall into the trap of the so called superior 360 version again. Any body want proof just play farcry 2 on the 360 then play it on the ps3. Shadows are so much better on the ps3 and the aliasing is a lot less noticible on the ps3. Goes for other games too. The screen tearing issue is probably a lie. Don't know yet because I haven't played it, but if it is anything like most reviewers say about the ps3 then it is a lie.

Yeah and the ps3 version looks blurrier and does have more screen tearing. The aliasing is the same in both versions and that has been confirmed. The only reason the aliasing is slightly less noticeable in the ps3 version is because it is less sharp and more blurry. I have played both versions back to back and that is what I saw. I completely disagree that the ps3 version was the superior version. Overall this is a game where I would have to say that it is fairly close and I can see people having a preference for either version, but for me the 360 version looked crisper and slightly more detailed and had less screen tearing.

It's funny that you are listing slightly better anti-aliasing as the reason the ps3 version is supposedly better, but when it was discovered that Mirror's Edge on the 360 had better anti-aliasing and less screen tearing than the PS3 version every ps3 fanboy was downplaying that and saying that it didn't even matter. Now, because we have a game where the aliasing is actually the same on both versions and only looks slightly smoother on ps3 due to the "vaseline effect" which slightly blurs details and edges alike we have people like you claiming that it is the better version, despite the fact that it is provably worse in some other areas. In fact, Eurogamer thought the 360 version had the better anti-aliasing:
"Redding describes the console versions as comparable to a "medium load-out on PC", and warns us that, "graphically you're going to notice slight differences". Which we did. The Xbox 360 was the better of the two with its anti-aliasing". http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

If I can't get my hands on both version of a game before buying I will always opt for the 360 version, as I have learned from experience that they are nearly always better to one degree or another. (And at the very least equal to the ps3 versions.)

BS. Burnout Paradise looks virtually identical on both consoles.

DMC4 looks the same, except the 360 version has the superior 2xMSAA instead of the temporal anti-aliasing of the ps3 version which makes things look blurry in motion.

Fallout 3 was significantly better on the 360 and many reviewers even commented on that fact. I couldn't believe how much worse it looked on the ps3--jaggies everywhere, frame slowdown, poor LOD (level of detail) on background objects such as trees and buildings on the hills. The 360 version is hands down better and it was only some idiot fanboy that took some crappy pictures and tried to convince everybody that the ps3 version had some better textures, but you only have to look at the comparison videos and screenshots at Eurogamer to see that the 360 version actually has the superior textures in most places--I don't give a sh1t whether a shiny shader is used on the roaches in my game or not. That's an art difference, not a technical difference. The roaches were every bit as detailed in the 360 version, they just weren't as shiny. Where it matters most--on buildings and the ground--the 360 had better textures, not to mention the other major advantages it has over the ps3 version. Seriously, this one is not even close. The 360 version is better.

Far Cry 2 is debatable, but I thought the 360 version was clearer and slightly more detailed and had a little less screen tearing than the PS3 version.

GTA4? That one will be debated for forever. The 360 version runs at a higher resolution, has extra effects lacking in the ps3 version and better anti-aliasing, while the ps3 version upscales from its lower resolution which gives it a smoother look (slightly blurrier) and also has slightly less pop-in. I personally think the 360 version looks better and from a technical standpoint it is doing more as well. Eurogamer also felt the 360 version was slightly better:
"As it is then, it comes down to personal preference, and in my view, Xbox 360 just 'edges' it."

So, there is absolutely no way that it can be construed that those games look better on the ps3. Equal?...maybe in some cases, but not better.
