I LOVE the new update . . . minus those dang avatars. The avatars are TERRIBLE and completely miss the 360's audience. Netflix streaming is GREAT, however, you can watch everything worth watching on there in about a week (no so great selection).

Is anyone else unable to stream movies from their computer??? I can't anymore. It won't play even though it shows up. Says file type not supported even though I used to play it on old dashboard.

WTF?! That doesn't make any sense at all. Why is the old Blade interface considered "nerdy" and the new one isn't?

Microsoft mostly buys games and hardly makes their own games even with the tons of cash that they already have. More money for Microsoft is mostly going to mean More exclusive DLC and more timed exclusives.

Most of his top 5 ways of defending the NXE to me were pretty lame. Even though I don't have a 360, I like the look of the new Xbox 360 Interface layout, the only thing that I think that shouldn't be used is the Cartoony Avatars. If the Avatars looked as realistic and detailed as a character model in Gears 2 or something, then I think that the Avatar system would be pretty neat, but honestly I don't think that the Cartoony Avatars are for the Core Xbox audience anyways.

why is it that just about every comment here is from a sony fan? yes, this story is rubbish. but not so much that you guys still find your self still gravitating to a 360 thread to bash it. is there really not that much to do on the ps3 that you always find your self whinning about another xbox story. xbox 360 must be doing something right, because sony fans never attacked the 1st xbox nearly this much.

so far one of my friends hate it and the other loves it. i think if i had a 360 maybe i would like it but its not that much of a big deal. i think that primetime thing looks great but the whole netlix thing is getting over hyped whale to me it is. oh and the hdd install thing is also cool to bad that MS sales there hdd for way to much. i hope this makes sony release home already because they are getting there fanboys no ammo to counter this update. good to see MS able to make really good software again.

its just jokes. Microsoft made it too easy. You should know how relieved we all are that we don't have to look at the miis while navigating the XMB. We have the Sony blog & flash 9 support for our browsers. We have life with playstation & there isnt a creepy cartoon doll anywhere in sight.

It feels like dodging a label bullet. PS3 is confirmed the last hardcore system.
Just face facts. I'm still laughing at those homo avatars representing you.

Do you guys realise what you're doing? You're defending a broken system made by s screwed up company that charges unnecessarily.

- NXE is just a scam cooked up by M$ to justify your XBL subscription. It's thrown in last minute in a desperate struggle against the FREE and ever-evolving PSN. PSN keeps improving in every update, it's FREE and it's unstoppable. Keep telling yourself XBL is better than PSN - you're blind!

- Many subscribers complained about XBL and M$ decided they have do something. They decided to do NXE by copying Mii because Nintendo Wii is pretty popular now. Afterall, it's the shortest and safest way out because doing NXE only involves re-designing the interface. But even with such an easy task, M$ has failed miserably. Seems like M$ thinks their users are easy targets and don't deserve any respect.

- If you think NXE will match PSN, you have no idea what you're talking about. PSN has been designed from scratch to incorporate changes and designed to evolve. With HOME, LifewithPlaystation, Folding@HOME, etc., it's obvious PSN was built with customisation in mind. It can even incorporate last minute changes like custom soundtrack successfully without any problem. Overall, PSN is more flexible, stable and better suited for customisation.

- M$ tries to make NXE look like something new but everyone knows it's just a Nintendo Mii in disguise. It's a blatant rip-off from Nintendo Mii, hastily done up, rushed out and like many M$ products, it wasn't tested.

- PSN may had it's minor problems with a few updates (mind you that it only affected like less than 1% of PS3) but SONY is fast to react with public announcement (usually within hours) and SONY engineers ironed out all those issues with successive updates (with prompt announcements too). That's what I call excellent after-sales service and support. So, when will NXE get an update? I'd say fix their damn RROD problem first before creating more problems.

Just look at what you're doing pretending M$ is all righteous. M$ is at your back laughing it's ass off to the bank. You're screwed again!

I hate that my old 360 Fantasia theme is completely useless now. I hate "NXE"
The avatars are lame. They're not even graphically impressive. Hell, I could at least make a Hitler Mii. Every NXE avatar looks like an audience member from Oprah. I feel like I'm Microsoft's b!tch with the new update. I feel like I'm being dragged into this more universal appealing, soccer-mom, GAP trend. It's f@cking LAME!!! I feel like any personality my old 360 dashboard had is completely lost. Now all I have is a cumbersome eye sore.

Ah, Let the PS3 Fanbois have their fun...this is the year of the PS3 after all! LBP destroyed MS as predicted...and all multi-plat's leading from PS3 will show the true power of the PS3! Gears 2 was a flop and 2009 holds no future for the 360!
