And synching the PSP games could be as simple as logging on to PSN from PSP or USB connection to PS3.

However, this kind of functionality is a bit late in the game to drag PSP/PS3 cross compatibility into it. Maybe PSP2/PS4 it'll be a solution.

2.2 - I think the PSP still has quite a bit of life in it.
Handheld usually don't need iterations as fast as consoles. And looking at the Nintendo DS you know what I am saying? Low tech, affordable to the game makers, and easy to program for is all they care anyways. At this point in time, I just don't see Sony needing to push the boundaries of making a new PSP unless big N is coming out with another handheld that is more powerful than the PSP. And again, power doesn't mean shet here...in handheld space

2.3 - Right
the piracy i think for PSP can be do away with if all the publishers do not publish games on storefront and then they bundle PSP with like a 8gig card but this is not possible. Because PSP is meeant for kids and most of the time, they buy stuff in real store...And not sure which is more beneficial, because you will lose alot of customers on store front if you only do download as well :_:

But DS is also being pirated as well..but the PSP is just freaking rampant.

PSP trophies and the PSP store is the perfect way to fight piracy.

Ive had custom firmware for 4 months now, but i think im actually going to go back to offical firmware after some games with trophies come out. and also when i get a wireless router :p

^note i dont have any Pirated PSP games, just PS1 and GBA games.

If they ever did include trophies to PSP games, I wonder how they'll handle people with CFW

Just like the PS3 works. If you want to sign in to sync your trophies, it will tell you to update to the latest firmware. hackers cant bypass it from all i know, because the sever will check the firmware itself. so yeah. I think im gonna switch back to offical once i buy a wireless router

The correct way to say it is "a unified". "U" in this case is said like "you".

6 - Well, the way I see it...
All they need to do is fully integrate PSN into the PSP, to the point where you can bring your PSN ID with you on the go.

This reminds me of SOCOM and Crosstalk. That stuff was pretty sweet. Do certain things in the PSP game, sync with PS2 game and you unlock certain things and same the other way around. I miss single player SOCOM... :(

It's a really good idea... can curb piracy and increases lastability of games.
Add in HOME support (if it were possible on the PSP) then Sony is able to integrate their social side of their console/ handheld together.

Sony should get this going now... oh, and add wmv and avi support for the psp! (that could also tempt ppl to go back to ofw.
