Huge Blu-ray Revenue Increases

FWC:Record Market Share for the Week Ending October 5th.

Fueled by the record sales of Iron Man, revenue was up over 145% to $26.8M, while the 13% market share set a new record for the top 20 Blu-ray versus DVD.

The per title market share chart shows that Iron Man sold over 17% of its units on Blu-ray - a great achievement for a title that sells to casual DVD buyers.

Universal's Ultimate Unrated Comedy Collection sold over 96% of its units on Blu-ray - of course, all three titles were new for Blu-ray, where only one was a new release for DVD.

1 - Blu-Ray is starting to hit
mainstream. This is good news. The more revenues Sony makes from movies, the more likely they are to reduce the price of Blu-Ray drives which means price cut for the PS3. The sooner the PS3 hits $299, the better.

Best thing ive noticed about blu-ray is that the prices of discs have started to come down.

Iv seen recent titles for as little as £13 which is fantastic. Thats down from £20 this time last year.

One movie.

Don't make me laugh.

Bluray sales are INCREASING. When 'The Dark Knight' hits, the revenue may very well go through the roof.

I knew blu ray will do well. There is a bunch of idiots out there that want blu ray dead. they are people who are to scared to get rid of dvd. or just plain fan boys . If blu ray really did die what would you use for HD movies? thats right there would be no HD videos on the market. that means you wasted your money on a hd tv

The people who want blu-ray to die must not have 1080p tv's, otherwise im not sure why they would want a 1080p tv for. Pretty silly to own one just for digital cable considering it doesn't reach 1080p resolution or even for upscaled dvds. some people are really missing out. Iron man on bluray was INCREDIBLE!!!

no,no,no. The people who want blu-ray to die are pissed off HD-DVD fanboys(Mainly Microsoft Fanboys) who want the format to die, because it killed HD-DVD with the help of the PS3. And they still to this day 6 months after its death, still B**ch about how the disc formats are not needed anymore, how Digital Distribution is the future, how Sony "steals" your money, etc. you know usual Crap thats spitted out by these sore losers.
