i think some real numbers would show the ps3 beating the 360 by 40-50k a week which adds up to around 200-160k a month just in europe. add sales from japan and the usa and there is no way the gap is over 5mill.

Sony's official number of PS3's sold as of the end of June 30th= 14.41m

Sony's number+ Vgchartz weekly numbers from july to current= 15,743,736

If I take NPD numbers, Japan's numbers and since there apparently is nothing for europe, vgchartz's others and add them to Sony's numbers, the total as of the end of July comes out to 15,010,774
See I am as good at this as VGchatrs......

VG Chartz huh... If you think PS3 sells way more software than 360 in EU (that's why PS3 sold more copies of DMC3 and Burnout Paradise, that's why they give much more profit this year than last year for EA and other publishers), that is in the charts, but look at the top 10. Not one single PS3 game... But look, Too Human in the top 10!

Could be coincidence but come on, this ALWAYS happens on VG Chartz. 360 has a launch game, it's on the top 10 Euro, PS3 is selling that much more software, but they are nowhere to see.

This is conflicting data. Just more evidence of how this numbers are off... Not that it really needs, it's damn VG Chartz.

Funny, I find this site to be made up mostly of obnoxious 360 fanboys.

The funny thing is, all the childish crap they gave PS3 owners for the past couple of years has returned to them on the Kharmic wheel, and now they're crying about it. Man up. If you talk trash before the fight is over and end up losing teeth, you had it coming.

Now I have no problem with single console owners on either side, that are able to be fans of their system of choice without hating, and can actually make insightful comments, that contribute to the conversation. Unfortunately, they are seriously in the minority.

Look at how many posts refer to the SDF. Like there isn't an MDF out in full force. RROD is off limits, but 'delaystation' remarks are OK.

If you think PS3 fanboys are the only trolls, check out the PS3 stories, and you will find the 360 fanboys trolling like there's no tomorrow. I own and enjoy both systems, and they're both worthy of ownership. Why can't we build up our system of choice, without trying to tear the other down? It seems to me like this is the 'low self esteem' crowd, that put others down to prop themselves up. I for one will always prop myself up on my achievements, not someone else's shortcomings.

While it is true the PS3 has taken over for the 360 as the number 2 machine, none of this is relevant as regards VGChartz and their totally unreliable figures. Having missed in the US so often I don't see how anyone can put a shred of belief in those guestimate, snatched out of thin air, ramblings.

The fact they show the PS3 in the lead is a mere coincidence with fact rather than the result of solid market research.
