I'm guessing they want to start out small first to see if they could handle those territories and then move on to EU and NA later. Theuy want everything to go well when it comes to the states.

I think they are probably gonna release in Asia first because of the low user base there that are using their PS3 online. With the lower user base the less strain on their PSN networks so they can work out the kinks before they release it in the bigger markets like NA..

1.6 - They have already announced it in Fall in the US and Europe.
My guess is that they want to comfirm that Asia won't be left out without a home this year, by this announcement.

It has to do with social networking. I know how people will react to that, but look how much more vast the landscape of competitive gaming is because of the internets, and look how much more vast the entire world is now in making new friends. As much as the real world is, the internet IS the real world. It's only making your real world much bigger and is letting you reach places that you wouldn't otherwise be able to reach.

You would be able to meet those people you compete with online in a much more social environment than is there right now. This is something that the 360 cannot do on its own right now, and that will give the advantage on that front to Sony. Until this point, the 360 has had the advantages, and Sony has been playing catch up. However, they are really neck and neck as far as network features go. With Home, that will all change. Sony will have more than just avatars, but full on Sim-like characters with a Second Life influenced world with alot to do and full-on customization of your condo that you will have. This will, if nothing else, make MS have to answer, and that will be the first time in the console war that Sony will have the edge and something MS doesn't currently have.

That, my friend, is the big deal. A one-two punch with something that changes the landscape of social network gaming.

You do realize that Sony is an Asian company (Japan is part of Asia) and all the studios, no matter who develops them, are funded by Sony. Why are people surprised about Sony confirming Home for Asia before US and EU?

10 - Home is going to be great....
I hear lots of people comparing Home to XBL and I find that rather amusing because the time I've spent with the beta has shown me the two aren't even in the same ballpark. XBL is like playing wiffleball with a bunch of kids...yeah it's fun but it's still wiffleball. Home is the Big Leagues.
Don't get me wrong I'm not one of them this is better than that, I'm just giving my opinion. On the surface some people may not like Home and be quite dissapointed in it, but for the gamer that delves deep into his or her games, plays online more than 10 hours a week, or just loves to play with something new...Home is that and much much more. Just wait until you sign on, you'll be messing around with things in your 'living space' for hours and it won't be at all a waste of time.

Well, I guess HOME really is coming this year after reading this HOME announcement for Asia, I just hope the Japanese can learn to embrace Online and community gaming more.

I think that it could be possible for HOME's release date to coincide with LBP's release date or to follow shortly after because LBP will be heavily integrated with HOME and it would make a lot of sense to me if Sony released both within the same time frame.

Home will Hit EU and US on the same day, so theirs no reason while it won't hit Asia on the same day, also HOMES console locked, not PSN locked meaning you'll have to DL it from you're country's PSN Store. Also, the latest info I have on a launch is along sind Bioshock.

true that my friend but, what about our two racers with clones attach to them? wipeout HD> fatal enertia and Motorstorm 2> pure.

those two games are also coming out this fall as well u know lol.

also blu ray will be attending this party as well, in their transformer sept 2, iron man sep30th, hand c.o.c.k, incredible hulk oct 14, matrix: ultimate collection oct 14, zohan, and the dark knight dec 9 suits. all coming this fall as well. but back to the games now.

im pretty sure M$ will have rockstar launch their exclusive dlc on killzone 2 launch time,

but sony also got sucker punch making sure, M$ doesn't try to ruin the party with the launch of infamous of course.

also the agency, afrika and a slew of Ncsoft ps3 exclusive MMorgs are also set to join the party as well. fallowed by heavy rain, twisted metal, wardevil, god of war 3, syphon filter and many more. team ico project and white knight chronicles, tears of blood, MAG, Uncharted 2: on the trail of Atlantis. should also attend the affair as well. a few others i forgot to mention but well you know the deal.
