So true. Not only does it come out at the same time and Gears2 and R2, it also comes out around the time LBP, Mirrors Edge, Socom, Fable 2 and Bioshock come out. I think it will have a hard to compete with these game in sales. Also, it is a made by Treyarch and is back to the WWII seen so some people will be scared to buy it.

Last year, COD4 totally stole Halo 3's thunder. Not more than a month after Halo 3 came out it was bested by COD4 as top XBL game.

Now, I'm not saying this next COD is going to be as groundbreaking, but I can easily see people getting tires of R 1.5 and Gears 1.5. Lets be honest, its not like these games are going to be all that "fresh".

I mean hell, Gears2 has Gridlock for a map, and that's the most played out map ever!!!

R2 seems like it will be a little more fresh, the XP system is new and quite extensive - there is no rehashed maps, and it features a new method of MP that features 60 player servers w/ teams of 10.

The only thing that worries me is COD5 is months away from dropping on store shelves and look how little we really know about it.

I think this game will flop. WW2 games are not registering on folks radars anymore it's "just another one" imo. R2 and Farcry will lead the online untill KZ2 takes over. Call of duty 5 is going to be just like Call of duty 3.

I can understand the Gears thing. The meat shield is gonna add some cool gameplay also Flame thrower is cool but a basic reboot, which is fine I mean they are actually using some of the same multi-player maps as the first game. But R1.5 come on, even the biggest fanboy can admit that a seprate 8 player co-op campaign plus 60 player multi-player plus a new Narrative story, plus the fact that you can only carry 2 weapons at a time and plus the Boss battles not to mention custom character classes to choose from. I am sorry dude R2 is a complete reboot in every way imaginable I just can't agree with you on that one.

imo its more fresh than Gears2.

Every time you shoot an enemy xp pop up underneath them.

You gain special abilities by building up xp w/o dying.

The method they are using for player match ups is completely unique, its like smaller games within 1 big game.

There are plenty of new weapons and most of the old ones have been revised.

There is 8 player co-op and Single player campaign, each different.

R2 will support trophies for the first time.

Gears 2:

5 on 5

Revised network

Some destructability

Improved campaign mode

New/Revised weapons

Sorry I am going to disagree with that. Gears of War 2 will be the most play game this Holiday on the Xbox 360 without any competition. On the PSN it going to be a toss up between Socom, Little big Planet, and Resistance 2.

Dude, as much as I love COD4, I just don't see it with this title. I do have it on my list of buys this year because of Flame throwers and online co-op. But Gears 2 and L4D are gonna be the big Live titles and this game may compete very well on live. But no way on PSN with Socom and Resistance. Then Killzone 2 in Feb. I still play CoD4 all the time and have a ton of buddies on my list from that game alone, but even all of them are talking about jumping ship to Socom R2 then KZ2 this winter.
