The Cloudy Trophy News from Leipzig

PS3Trophies: "Today was an indifferent day for the Trophy system. I literally got a different response everytime I asked the question, but the results point to more than negative for today. Let me give you a quick rundown.

Dead Space - Trophy Support Confirmed

Midnight Club LA - Trophy situation unknown

Damnation - Not anticipating supporting it, too late in the development

Project Origin - Not supporting Trophies (already kind of confirmed at E3 anyway)

Fallout 3 - Still unsure"

imagine if mgs 4 come to 360 with 5 disks

if let's say,the 4th disk got scratched or wasted

are you gonna buy another 5 disks?

you'll have 9 disks

just use them to fill your empty disk holder to impress others with your so caled large game library or throw them out the window like ufo's or use them to cut cakes

or equip them as weapons

or use them as a mirror to see how good you looks

I usually don't laugh at "multi disc insults," but that was pretty funny.

Also, YES! Konami NEED to tell me a clear "Yes" or "No" on trophies. I'm very patient, but this is just killing me.

Though it's not a HUGE deal... I'm very happy that Dead space will have trophy support. Along with Mirror's Edge which was recently confirmed too.

You know what you're trying to do. Don't pretend you don't either. It would be like me waltzing into a Xbox 360 article regarding avatars and saying...

"Well, Microsoft's trying to catch up to Nintendo... but not doing it so well."

I'll admit that Sony's trophy implementation hasn't been great so far... but trophies are merely a nice little bonus. Just like achievements. But that's ALL they are... a bonus. It doesn't add any extra content to the game. It just rewards you for what you do.

You know that they are forcing devs to add trophies into games, right? The ones listed are all too recent to be forced into it, but any game not far into development, and every game that begins development WILL have trophies. It's not even a big deal, but you're too ignorant in your perspective.

Look ahead 6 months, it's how you have to look at Sony. It's like they're playing Chess, and MS is playing Checkers. I swear, I can't wait for the day Sony's plan comes into full swing and they become a wrecking ball of awesome, just so I can stop hearing so much fanboy talk (but then I'll have to deal with more Sony fanboys... Dang, my Utopian dream doesn't seem to work out very well D:).

It takes longer to test trophies than it does to implement them. That may be part of the reason why, if they're on a tight schedule (or used up their resources) with their play testers and coders.

'Skill Points'.

Objectives to complete to unlock bonuses or items or percentage completion of game, most titles of objectives were revealed once completing hidden objective.

If you can track down something similar before that, that was mainstream using a similar system, I'd be happy to be put wrong.

PSN = GIMPED

Either way you twist it. Sony tries to update PSN during the PS3's lifecycle, but time after time they delay, put in semi working functions or not working at all.

For the PS fans I hope and pray when the PS4 launches in 2012 Sony will have their act together online. Because this gen seems to be a lost one. Sony promised to match XBL from the launch of the PS3 at the end of 2006. We're allmost 2 years later and still it lags behind.

Sony = always overpromising & underdelivering

dude, you (and me) should pray for some good 360 games.

i have the feeling the 360 is dying a slow death. fable 2 looks like a xbox1 game and gears of war 2 looks like ... well, gears of war 1.

so hopefully MS will show something new and interesting at PAX. if not, bye bye 360!
