Kotaku have tracked down a comparison held between the PSP 2001 and PSP 3000. Now the original site was in a foreign language (my ignorance narrows it down to Taiwanese or Klingon) so the information will be presented here in pictures. And that's all we need really, isn't it? The feature list for the new version is a little thin.

1.1 - I'm trying real hard to not buy this when it comes out, but...
...I don't know if I can resist.

I found the tiniest of scratches in the screen of my PSP just yesterday. It's really not a big deal, but it's still bugging the crap out of me!

And then reports of this show up, with it's pretty screen, and built-in microphone...

I'll probably crack and get one :P

5.1 - .. Not much and that's how Sony always wants it be.
They're not about making initial owners of eariler products feel regretful or feel they have a totally outdated machine. They just do great minor updates for the newcomers but they don't end up getting a totally different machine than the rest.

Not like others that have no issues in saying to their fanbase "hey, it's a hell of a lot better than yours so deal with it and go buy the new one."

Why do you need 3 PSPs? Or, did you sell off the other ones?

For me, the changes don't warrant me spending any money above and beyond what I bought my psp-2000 for.

Until I see if any new information comes out on it. I have the PSP Slim right now and its great... the screen on this new one is great but no other real benefit to me to purchase it.

Normally when new firmaware comes out and new features is when you can tell if there is a any real difference.

That's what I wanted, the anti glare thing. It totally sucks that there is bunch of glare on my slim. Hope they compare the two with games and in the dark. Still, I'm buying one.

i am tempted to invest in one but im afraid by the time this comes out the PSP "2" will be right around the corner and be a waste when i could get a better one just for a few months later... that or the Xbox portable will come no matter what i get the other will be better IMO LOL

23 - I also picked up a psp on ebay,
I Picked up a diet PSP on ebay with two games and a 4gb mem card for $154 so I'm covered for the foreseeable future!*sarcasm alert* 3000 is so damn temping with all of its 16,770,000 colors goodness that I'll probably end up getting one and selling my current slim soon!!! Wow...The iphone 3g and now a psp 3...when will the fun ever end?

Hopefully never as I'm enjoying buying the same gadgets with minimal enhancements....oh happy days!

Where the heck is that 2nd analog stick?????????????????? What the ...! We've been waiting on that forever! No more excuses Sony, and stop giving us a minor feature and charging us 200 all over again!!!!!!! I won't be getting another one till it has 2 analogs, a built in hard drive and it could do everything an iphone can!
