Microsoft keep bytching-slapping PS3 gaining time-exclusives for their system first and "stealing" exclusive 3rd party support away from PS3.

Sure, Sony has some incredible 1st party games coming up, but am I the only one thinking that maybe Sony let some of their market share slip away by being inactive and not fighting for more timed-exclusives and doing whatever it takes to ensure that long-time 3rd party money makers stay exclusive to their system?

Sure, Sony doesn't have the deep pockets of Microsoft, but with the GTA, DMC, and FF series firmly in Sony's grip and only their grip... this console war would be looking alot different right now.

Just look at what a long time PS series and *sarcasm* non-system seller *end sarcasm* like MGS4 did for PS3 sales alone.

But then again, Microsoft just gained Rock Band 2 as a timed-exclusive so Sony maay never learn

EDIT: @JoySticksFTW: Thats a great point. I don't think many people bring that up, but it seems to me to be a very important aspect of this console race and Sony's slipping market share. I'm really glad they're using the money they would have used to for 3rd party exclusives and using it to make games like LBP and InFamous, not to mention all those damn PSN games. But, MS has done a really good job bring high quality franchises to it's crown console.

I doubt it but at the same time can believe it. This is coming from a German source after all. So this could mean nothing more that it'll be released for the PS3 in Germany/parts of Europe before the 360 and PC counterparts drop. For North America however I think this, if it holds merit, doesn't even affect us one bit anyway...

I'm not too sure about this. As a PS3 owner it would be good news to hear if it were true, but Sony has said time and time again that they don't pay for 3rd party exclusivity.

Since that came from a German website, I'm thinking that maybe Mirrors Edge might be a timed PS3 exclusive in Europe only or just a timed PS3 exclusive in Germany.

I remember there was an article posted on N4G about a month or so ago about the majority of EA's revenue coming from the Playstation 3 and just a fraction coming from the 360, and maybe that's the reason for the supposedly timed exclusivity.

see why EA would do this, PS3 came out on top in software sales last quarter, pulling well over $100 million for EA. it's why the PS3 is lead platform for both dead space and mirrors edge, most likely possible for every future EA game.

Ah, i wouldn't be to fast there. The same "interview" quoted Reeves saying that the replay for old PS2-Singstar versions would come through emulation via a firmware. Whereas the off. blog just confirmed that there is NO emulation, but that the PS3 SingStar versions will read the video content right from the PS2 disk without running the original game.

So if Reeves was incorrect or misquoted with that, he might as well be misquoted or incorrect regarding this. Especially as no one at EA or the ME devs knows anything about it(or at least claims to know nothing about it)

If it comes out anywhere near LittleBigPlanet or Resistance, it may struggle on the PS3, if it comes out near Gears or Fable it may struggle on the 360. If it's early 2009 then it might have more luck so if it is coming to either console later, it may not be a bad thing.

Having said that, I want it. (We'll see what people say about it closer to launch though).

tekken is droll son.

Street fighter is king.

On a side note i think losing tekken (in an exclusive sense) would be more of a hit to sony than losing ff13 (in an exclusive sense). Ive seen ff games on pc/nintendo/whatever. I have never seen a tekken game on another console, obviously excluding arcade machines. Im actually suprised that sony hasnt at some stage purchased the rghts to tekken as an IP. like wipeout, colony wars (WHY THE F*** IS THERE NO NEWS ON A NEW COLONY WARS! IT WOULD BE EPIC!) crash bandicoot, etc, the name is synonimous with the word Playstation.

And to the idiots with nothing better to do than petition developers, make some use of your pathetic lives and atleast petition for something good, IE COLONY WARS, ROLLCAGE, G-POLICE remakes. but COLONY WARS first. oh for the love of a HD colony wars. Nothing would ever surpass it. The shooting, the dog fighting, the flying, the empty space, the straffing runs along epic space carriers. Oh my. And then there would be multiplayer. but yeah tekken is pretty much the sony fighter I would be disappointed if it wasn't exclusive for the PS3 but I really doubt it lets not forget about tekken 5 for the PS2,DR-PSP,and DR-PS3 there is just to much history for tekken to go anywhere else it just wouldn't feel right.Hopefully NAMCO is thinking the same thing Kojima was thinking when he decided to keep MGS4 on the PS3

What? Do you actually believe this will be another HAZE? I never knew why people was excited about Haze since it was generic shooter number 426 but Mirrors Edge is actually different. I seriously cannot wait for this game to come out, it seems to be like it's taking a completely different approach to the fps genre. Sort of like what Portal did last year (being not your average FPS). Unless you are just saying "another Haze" since it's being speculated at being timed exclusive. I myself don't buy this rumor at all.

First they delay the 360 version then they cancel it. Besides, giving a game to the 360 after Christmas is a joke. The PS3 is going to own the Yuletide season. Man I love being a PS3 owner. No one will want to be seen in broad daylight carrying a 360 game unless they are going to trade it in.

They are apparently looking at having to cut the game maps down for the 360 version and use lower res textures in order to fit it on a disc. Sweet.

out of all the multiplat games coming out i would only welcome this one cause it looks like the best multiplat game ya know. all the other games i really want are ps3 exclusives cause ps3 exclusives give me the best gaming experence (so far)

i own:

siren blood curse~ (this counts) i prefer this over any survival horror game, its REALER than R5/4 and thats what i like about it.
GT5p~ (just a great meaty demo) but its still the greatest "sim" out.
MGS4~ (greatest game i have ever played)
Hevenly Sword~ (omg this game is really unbelievable) you guys should really get it. F*cking EPIC!
Warhawk~ (totally chaotic online game, dog fights everything, explosions omg sick game)
motorstorm~ (yo this is the game that changed everything, its a must have! i sware!)
resistance~ (the best fps i have played) totally a must have. cod4 is fun online but the campaign sucks compared to resistance. plus resistance online is really fun too.

im getting SOCOM day1 (the greatest franchise of all time and the best online game period) its all i need.

7 - A little off topic but...

I downloaded the Haze demo last night to see why everyone bashes it so hard. As far as I can tell (from the demo) it's not that bad.. It's not omgwtfawesome!.. But I have no idea why it's the red-headed stepchild of PS3 games. The AI is a little dumb and the lines are cheesy but the gameplay is fine. Not sayin' I would buy it (maybe for ten bucks) but it's not horrible. The graphics are nice and the guns feel pretty good (which is my biggest problem with Halo.. All the guns feel fake). So if anyone knows why it's "lolHaze" I'd like to know.. other than not living up to the hype.

i bought it day one... i liked it at first, i did. the online was really fun. my beef was that their was hardly any detail and it didnt really feel like a nex gen fps ya feel me. i liked it but i recently sold it cause i am SICK of NON-nex gen games ya know. from now on i will only own the tru nex gen games and haze didnt fit in with my collection of great games ya know. it was ok and i would defiantly buy it for 10$ but i felt cheated after buying it for 60$. rent it man, its decent. and i agree, the gun-play is better than halo's.

Yea I feel ya.. Thanks for the response. I can see what you mean with the "not next-gen" thing. It doesn't feel on par with the likes of Resistance and such. I just didn't think it was as bad as everyone says. Maybe I'll bargain bin it one day when it's cheap just for a buffer when I'm in between awesome game releases.

IMO Halo was one of them (skittle colored marines with moon gravity boots and purple needle guns?) Haze got the scores it deserves, but definitely not the hate. Sucks because FREE RADICAL is usually great, that's why it gets that level of hate.
