The impression I got was that they find that Killzone 2 brings a nice refreshing to a pretty outplayed/cliché sub-genre.

But, maybe that's just me.

There are only so many coats of paint you can put on an FPS. They all tend to look great, but at the core is the game going to be that much better than anything else out there? You run around with a gun and blow things up. Is there more?

He didn't call it just another FPS, he said "the best seems to rise to the top, even when it's just another para-military FPS. (i.e. COD4ish) But I agree 100% KZ definitely had the best graphics.

Can't wait to get this one. Gears, and RE5 look great also.

I think Gears2 and KZ2 are both looking fantastic.

Lets think back on when we saw the first CG trailer for KZ2.
We were all blown away. I think I saw it a hundred times, and showed it to everybody I knew who were a little interested in gaming. Then it turned out Sony hadn't told us the whole truth.

Think of the pressure this put on Guerilla Games.
They had to deliver graphics that they were not even sure was possible. Then now we see they have met the CG trailer.
That is a f_cking job well done.
Sony must have seen something in GG that no one else did.

I hope Sony's big announcement isn't some big new IP. I hope it's a big new studio, because god dammit, Sony's first party games simply sets the standard.

I have to agree that Resistance 2 should have been in this list and GT are clearly going out of their way to ignore it. They'd rather show off SFIV instead. No offense meant to SFIV of course - it's looks good, but then again so does that PS3 Naruto fighting game. Soul Calibur IV isn't exactly behind it graphics-wise either.

Gears textures suck too. And i know it looks better Resistance 1. But all of the Gears of War textures look all shiny and look alike with different colors. But if you take all lighting off....textures wonk look as good because they wont shine.

A good example of good textures is Metal Gear Solid 4.
Just by looking at the walls, get that feeling they look rough.
Whereas Gears of War you dont get that feeling. They feel like plastic and cheap.

And im not saying Gears sucks or looks bad. IMO I pefer Gears over Resistance (dont hold it against me but its because im tried of FPS's).

Watch the Resistance video again and watch them side by side.

I bet you'll sing " I can see clearly now the fog (I mean rain) is gone, I can see all obstacles in my way (not having a PS3)".

I'm actually going to agree with La Chance for once, Resistance 2 does not look as good as Gears 2, but the game's are unfinished.

Gears of war was revered for great graphics and it's gameplay, so that's where they've built Gears 2 up on first.

resistance was built up to run smooth then to look great ( for a launch title to run so smooth in splitscreen and lag free online, it looked great ) so that's what they're doing now. Getting the game working. I seriously believe that Resistance 2 will be a great looking game, they have full Sony support and the information from the other first party studios.

The videos, however, are pre-alpha and alpha code. Most developers don't show the most recent code because it's buggy, they show the last successful build.

Hard to believe that with PS3 in your name that you thought both looked better than gears 2. Funny how that worked out. For gfx KZ 2 > gears 2 > resistance 2. Let's not bring gameplay into this though. I dont have enough tissues to pass out to all the killzone fans. Sony is putting it's holiday spot light on resistance not killzone. Nov is the month that all the big guns come out not march.

VirusE, that was actually an accident. I was trying to come up with a user name since my original (Basch) was taken. At that time, I had no PSN ID or Xbox Live GamerTag. I had no working Internet connection for my systems. So I had to guess which names would work. I had recently signed up at MyResistance with the same problem and decided to go with BaschPS3 so it would be easier to remember (Basch on PS3 game's website).

When I signed up at N4G, I spent too much time coming up with a name and threw the towel in and tried BaschPS3 since I had used it for MyRes and thought no one else would take that. Since then, I now have a working internet connection to all three of my systems (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii).

The name I now use for my PSN ID/GamerTag is NeoBasch. If I knew of a way to change my current user name, believe me, I would. As for assumptions. You should never assume. I have had my 360 since I got my delayed preorder in February (I take it no one remembers those shortages). I bought the Wii later that year, and the PS3 a year after that.

I have played many games and found favorites for each system. I use each quite extensively. No matter what it may seem like from any comments on these boards, because frankly you can't judge a person through the keystrokes they make.

I'm sorry you don't agree that I should be able to express myself, even if it goes against popular opinion (as the media would make it seem). Unlike them, I give everything a fair shake and am open to a multitude of genres. I love new and original IPs and invest in them to show my appreciation. Still, I do not push my ideals on others, because I have enough respect to know that each individual is unique and equally important. Everyone is free to express they're opinion. At least, that is what I believe.

360 days are over?. The way I see it is that if MSFT had those devs and engines on the 360 PS3 games will still be superior on the 360 as games always are, remember its the 360 that can match the PS3 easily not the other way around.
