you'd have to be crazy to deny that PSN was no where near Live when PSN launched. Still, I could pop in a game and play online with friends w/o paying anything.

Now, it's light years ahead of where it was at launch and it's only growing and I still have not paid anything.

Not a bad trade off to me. I think all Sony owners appreciate having the extra 60 bucks every year.

Personally, I'd rather pay for a better service.

Here's an example: there are a ton of freeware MMO's online that don't measure up to World of Warcraft. Now, each gamer makes a decision-- do I play a free MMO that is of lesser quality because it is free or do I pay the monthly fee and play arguably the best MMO out there, World of Warcraft. No decision is right or wrong.

Shane Kim, Greenburg and now Don M have not exactly been silent.

Also, something I rarely hear people take into consideration, let's not forget Sony is building PSN out of pocket while MS makes roughly 600 million a year on XBL.

Personally I wish both companies would just remain silent and get to work but given the choice I would prefer not to pay to play online. I don't need all the options and features XBL and PSN are currently offering and trying to add. I just want smooth online connectivity and voice communication. That and people to shoot at! ;-)

Hardware, Yes….I’ll give you that. Sony has a long history in hardware and puts out solid products year after year. But Software????

Saying you can beat MS in software is as ludicrious as saying MS will put out better hardware as Sony.

PLUS! MS has had a HUGE headstart on Sony. The infustructure to LIVE was built back in the original Xbox days. Sony is just playing catch up and will always be playing catch up. Because as PSN looks to catch up to LIVE, MS will already be developing new upgrades.

And let’s not even talk about who has more resources (AKA Money) to build a better system.

Point is: YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO BEAT MS at there OWN GAME. PERIOD!!!

All he did is name off features that the XBL already was the guy even called him on it once when he tried to say it was something that could only be done on the ps3. I dont know how they can catch up to XBL by just adding things that are already on XBL. However I am surprised that he didnt bring up home at all. As of right now the only thing PSN got going for it is that its free. If home doesnt make it out before or around the same time that the new bashboard comes out they are goin to be so far behind XBL it wont even be funny. As for the price of it you can get a 13 month card for 40 dollars. So I cant see how anyone other then a fanboy could care about the price of XBL.

but let's get this straight... some features are needed to make certain things easier... i personally really want my own music in most games but BOTTOM line and being very honest.. we want online to play games and when i'm playing all i care about is playing.. and the big difference here is that PSN is Free and Live is not..

Some fanboys get upset about this, and say live is way better than psn and having played both i think this is quite an exaggeration.. i played cod4 at my friends house and it was the same thing..

Playstation3 owners and 360 owners are both playing cod4 and the biggest difference is, is that one is paying and the other one isn't..

If you think that psn sucks then you obviously have not played psn.. because games work just the same..

PSN is already better. PS3 version of UT3 has mods and you don't have to pay for the online service. 360 version has no mods but you still have to pay. Am I missing something here? Little Big Planet will only grow the PSN much further.

If I had a PC that could run it, why would I even bother with the ps3 version. I got UT for the ps3 in hopes of trying out the mods just to find out I would have buy a flash drive to get them. with your friends xboxlive makes it easier to what kill an enemy? I get on PSN see which of my friends are online and send them a message if they want to play a game, how much easier can it get? Does live spoon feed you while you play so you can keep your thumbs on the control pad? PSN and xboxlive does the same feature except xbox live charges $50 a year and PSN has dedicated servers for 1st party games(better)....So explain to me if both services let you connect online to play against your friends why does one charges for basically an inferior product.....I prefer dedicated servers for 1st party games instead of game invites, because there is no host advantage, and there is no host ended game. If you ever play resistance, socom and then you play halo3, gears2, cod4 then you know exactly what I'm talking about..I had a 360 and gears1 is the reason why I paid for live but after so many lag issues, host shotgun, cheaters I sold my 360. If a game that comes out on 360 and if I like it I will just buy it for PC...

As we speak, Home is NOT a feature of PSN. Until it releases, it is considered vaporware. (No one is mentioning netflix or the new fall update are they?) So the things that you are saying are getting fixed in home, are not getting fixed, because home is not here.

I do agree with the dedicated servers, although I still get lag in games on PSN. But at least there is no host advantages.

Honestly, I have no interest in actually "Buying Movies" and from what I hear the price on PSN is 15.00. Guess what, I can get the DVD hardcopy for about the same price and save on HD space. I just need to watch a movie and then it can go buy buy (pun intended), just like at the theater. I mean really, how big of a movie collect does one expect to get on a PS3 even with a 250 gig HD. My current DVD collection has over 300 titles. 55 movies at 4.5 gig each would fill up a 250 gig HD.

I really don't or haven't seen the "GALORE" of advertisements that you speak of on live. You almost make them sound like pop-ups or something. I have seen some ads, but they are usually related to a game that's coming out, or an XBL event. And those type of Ads I don't mind at all. We'll see when HOME comes out what type of ads are on the billboards there. I'm sure they will quadruple those that are on live.

with all that being said, I do feel that you have some great points and I agree with all of your advantages. Except buying movies, to me that a gee-wiz feature.

Okay first off, I happen to know Kingme, play golf with him on a regular basis. He actually have all three systems. And from what I read he did say that the movies cost 15.00 on PSN to buy. I would assume he is talking about the newer movies. You can buy new release at different places like sams, best, etc (Depending the movie) for 15-18 bucks. I think that qualifies for being of about the same price.

What made me chime in was, why do you seem to be so frickin angry about it. All he said was that he has no interest in buying any movies and you go off in this angry tangent about microsoft points and what not. If you don't agree with his point, then fine. But, there's no need to force your ANGRY point on him.

Guys like you annoy the hell out of me. If you have such hatred for microsoft, may I offer you some advice.
