Microsoft Unleashes "Vista Doesn't Suck" Campaign On World

You might remember that Microsoft dropped the hint that they were working on countering Apple's Mac/PC ads. Well, the battle begins now. Microsoft has created a website to give users compelling reasons to update to Vista. It has a rather frank admission from Microsoft:

"When Windows Vista debuted in January 2007, we declared it the best operating system we had ever made. "Windows Vista is beautiful," The New York Times raved. It's humbling that millions of you agree.

But we know a few of you were disappointed by your early encounter. Printers didn't work. Games felt sluggish. You told us-loudly at times-that the latest Windows wasn't always living up to your high expectations for a Microsoft product."

Then Microsoft goes into great detail about how Vista has improved since then with "100 Reasons Why You'll Be Speechless" as well as "10 Things To Try."

1 - That train has left and been swallowd up in darkness...
I bought an ultra cheap laptop and, the first thing I did was install Linux over the Vista Basic that was "included".

That may count as a Vista sale, but I won't be using it...

Well it's not 100% a lousy product. It's more misguided and should have never been fractured into so many versions. All and all I have to say there's a bit of a thrill and joy in modding Vista to work as I want it as in the olden days of WIN98 and WINXP/2000.

It's like a rubix cube that someone else has messed up, leaving you the puzzle of solving it and making it right.

However, reading this list, they're doing Apple's "300 'new' features in OS X Leopard". The 10 and 100 lists are jokes. Marketers take note.

Vista sucks and my poor laptop is one of a casualties of it. It takes up soooo much memory and underperforms. I uninstalled it the first week I had it and reinstalled xp.

5.3 - Calling someone a noob or claiming they have outdated hardware...
Just doesn't change the fact that Vista is bloated, and severally annoying to a great number of people.

MS own "Vista doesn't suck" campaign only makes the matter worse...

Care to explain why a file system, needs the hardware eqivolent to what some 3d shooter use?

Also how bloated is vista if it needs 15 gigs of hdd space, if people hate vista, why would they read new information about improvements to it.

Despite what some vista lovers believe, not everyone that can't stand vista is running a slow old machine, some don't view vista as better than xp, if people view vista as inferior, why upgrade.

My laptop came with Vista Home Premium but ate my antivirus where I could no longer install it and annihilated my touchpad drivers after 2 months of use. It's been XP ever since....

I just bought a gaming PC with Vista 64 bit \ 4GB RAM and I love it way more than the XP I had on my previous PC. However I can certainly understand why some people with just a regular PC would not like it if it makes their machine sluggish.

15 - I wonder ...
why you all aren't on windows 95. I remember the same crap being thrown around when xp was first shipped. Vista didn't get a good start, that's nothing new for an OS. Did everyone forget the first iterations of windows xp and how no one will switch to the bloated/slow/unoptimized new OS? Yeah...

15.1 - Point is MS never learns...
Windows has always been bloated and annoying. But MS failure to rectify Windows flaws or ever learning from their mistakes is becoming a sad joke...

I am curious how long did it take xp to be adopted in mass by the business community, if you know?

Also when businesses started adpoting xp in mass, what was the percentage that opted to downgrade to windows 2000, rather than use xp from the get go thx.
