Kingdom Hearts Wii/DS In The Works

There has been more and more validation to the Kingdom Hearts Wii rumors that have been spreading through the web. The rumors which initially started from a well known Wall Street Journal article with Disney and Square Enix, where both companies openly stated that "they would like to see the franchise available on all three consoles."

Square Enix senior VP Michihiro Sasaki told the Wall Street Journal, "We don't want the PlayStation 3 to be the overwhelming loser, so we want to support them. But we don't want them to be the overwhelming winner either, so we can't support them too much."

For one, if Square will bring XIII to 360, then you know "Exclusive" means nothing to them.

On top of which, you know that Square may or may not Push a Wii version, However, A company like Disney most definitely would.

I'll be playing Next Gen KH no matter what platform it is for, as long as the game is done correctly.

I have a wii but I would hate it to come to wii because it would completely degrade a quality title. Even if it goes multiplatform, the PS3 version would be nothing compared to what it could be... I wouldn't mind a PS3/360 share of kingdom hearts 3 but the wii would ruin it!

edit just read article:

They haven't even started kingdom hearts 3 yet... why would they be casting voice actors? The kingdom hearts team is currently working on FF 13 verses and some on FF 13 two games which square enix is pushing hard to speed development time on...

Just the same old rumour at the moment, but KH on the 360 is a stupid move cos the audience will not buy the game, but KH on the Wii is a very good move.

But if it does go to Wii I hope they only make the game Multi-plat and not exclusive as I would like to play the game on my PS3.

This is why you can't depend on third party developers. If you want to be dominant this gen, the only way todo it is with first party studios. Sony should buy out level 5 and Nis, so that they can have some rpgs studios. Level 5 only makes game for sony platform so i don't see why not, and the same goes for nis.

Improbable.

Level 5 is the developer of Professor Layton series, both Curios Village and Pandora's Box (published by Nintendo by the way), and also Inazuma and of course, Dragon Quest IX... all this games for the Nintendo DS.

And Level 5 is currently developing a new Professor Layton game.

And about Nis, they just partnered with Nintendo and Atlus. They are developing several games for the DS, and one Wii game.

DS games by Nis include: Disgaea DS, A Witch's Tale, Rhapsody and Puchi Puchi.

Yes, this is all rumor and speculation, but if the games are being ported like the article says they are, the only logical consoles would be the Wii and DS. The PSP could be a long shot, but it probably would have happened by now.

i am actually playing chocobo dungeon in my Wii, and i think the only rpg that i would make me stop it would be KH 2 FM or a new KH, perhaps Crystal Bearers too...

Yes, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon for the Wii is very good. I just bought the game last week.

A lot of developers don't make roguelikes RPG's anymore. If you like roguelikes, you should also try Shiren the Wanderer for the DS or Wii... any version is good.

Sorry, but Kingdom Hearts series is not Sony exclusive.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was released before Kingdom Hearts II. And it was for a Nintendo system. And there is a Kingdom Hearts game in development for the DS.

But you know the reason why both Kingdom Hearts I and II were released for the PS2: because the huge install base...

... but that's not the case anymore.

I can guarantee that one. Wii users have never heard of Kingdom Hearts and they won't buy it. Hold me to it.

The PS3 version will sell the most copies, by far...and the 360 close behind.

If there is going to be a Kingdom Hearts game for consoles (Kingdom Hearts 3), SquareEnix had better be smart enough to realize that putting an RPG like Kingdom Hearts on the Xbox 360 is just a waste of time. Kingdom Hearts has already been a proven franshise on the Playstation platform and it will sell Millions on the PS3 alone.

But, a Kingdom Hearts game for the Wii and DS makes plenty of sense because both platforms are big in Japan, and in my opinion, SquareEnix should focus most of their development on Japanese based consoles (Wii, DS, PSP, PS3) because releasing games on those platforms are guaranteed Multi-Millions in sales.

I guess people forgot about Kingdom Hearts 368/2 days they announced for the DS a while back which focus on Roxas and the Organization the year that Sora was asleep for.

There's also Birth by Sleep for the PSP and Kingdom Hearts mobile game also so I think when Kingdom Hearts 3 is announced maybe it will be PS3 exclusive or multiplat I don't know.

The Tokyo Game Show and Square-Enix's DKS3713 event they have coming soon will hopefully answer what platforms KH3 is going to.

16 - Anyone that thinks the next Kingdom Hearts is not coming to the wii/ds is delusional after the events this week.

The Wii and Ds dominate japan and currently the hardware leaders in America and maybe even Europe.

Times have changed and now im gonna get to play ff13,KH and So4 without even owning a Ps3.

I think having all consoles gives you Unlimted amount of game that might not come to other console meaning you won't be bored at all but broke lol. Im sure LPB would be a hit since it's very creative and looks fun. Also i don't know how resistance 2 is going to beat gears since the graphic don't seem to amaze me like Killzone does. But i think it will stand strong with it multiplayer. That sound awesome. But we will learn all of this by years end.

Browsing through the comments, I saw many people jumping the gun and talking about Kingdom Hearts 3. At this point, NO ONE knows if this title is in development or anything else about it for that matter. However and a lot more importantly, if Square releases a port of Final Mix to the Wii, the game will sell at least 2 million copies. This will strongly influence Square's eventual decision to ultimately make the game a multi plat or switch systems completely, whether it be part 3 or 4 etc. It's all about business gentlemen.

The name on the box art is different than both games mentioned in the article. However, Final Mix has never been released outside of Japan and has a HUGE following. A port to the Wii would not be unrealistic at all.
