E3 08: Grand Theft Auto IV DLC This Fall

"Microsoft have announced that a new downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV will be released this year and it will give gamers a whole new gameplay experience. It's been rumored that this new DLC will give gamers new missions and storyline.

I'm not saying that the 50 million didn't do what MS wanted it to do, but who the hell is gonna care about the DLC 6 months later.

The luster of GTA wore off after Vice City so i'm sure many people don't play it like they used to after they finish the story. Maybe it'll entice some to jump back in but there's no way the DLC is going to sell anywhere near 1/4 of the GTA sales.

I have GTA IV for PS3 just cause i'm so used to playing it on that. Even if Sony had the DLC i wouldn't download it. I haven't played it since i beat the story right before MGS IV came out.

1.4 - How much are those exclusives in the window?
-$50 Million for DLC (que? por que? ) that did nothing for sales.

-$9.83 TRILLION to get FF13 on 360....months later after PS3 on a console reknown for it's RPGs not selling well

I guess Microsoft doesn't care about making money outside of Live...it's all about saying WE HAVE IT TOO> see Xbox Avatars, Lips, New GUI interface & Newton Controller posts for further details.

Get the facts right!

- First off GTAIV DLC hasn't been released yet so talking about its sales effect is presumptive. Wait for the DLC and then see if it drives sales, particularly from all those mainstream gamers yet to upgrade to next gen consoles.

- FFXIII will be released simultaneously on PS3 and 360 for North America and Europe. It will remain a PS3 exclusive however for the Japanese version which will be released first.

- Additionally point your finger at Square more than MS. Square is a business and more than doubling the console base you can sell FF to (15m is now 35m) is a smart BUSINESS decision.

- MS are doing a much better job of making money from a variety of services than the currently unprofitable PS3.

- And sure they took others ideas, but they've enhanced them with new features, online capabilities, user generated content and revenue streams that further increase Live's value.

8 - microsoft loves to waste there money
I bet there kicking there selves in the a$$ after paying rockstar for this extra content.. It really didnt help sells or anything for the 360. I think they thought this game would be a super duper mega hit for them but it wasnt.. And most gamers could careless for this game right now..

10 - honestly, I don't know how much I care about GTAIV and downloadable content anymore
There are so many other and new games to play, it begs the question of whether its worth it. Downloadable content definitely won't be worth the $50 million that was paid for it. You never know though...might be good. My initial reaction to the content being delayed was dismay; I gradually stopped caring. E3 also has the effect of pushing new games on you that you "have to have" right away. I hope its good but I'm not expecting too much:-P

the DLC is not a matter anymore because there are already too many new games to look forward to plus GTAIV was never really that good! I haven't finished it yet because it's extremely boring but I'm on my 2nd round of MGS4! GTAIV wins hands down for the most overhyped game of all time! if they released this DLC a month after the game, maybe it will makes an impact but, fall?? do they even realised how intense this fall will be for gaming world?? GTAIV DLC will fall hard on the face! R* will not give damn, they already got the $50m bill!
