Sales for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 fell back in Japan after a boost from Konami Corp.'s Metal Gear Solid 4. The hardware ranked No. 4 in overall sales.

PS3 80GB MGS4 bundle sales increased this week upon restock at Amazon.com. The SKU retails for $499.99.

Sony this week deployed firmware 2.41 to fix hardware malfunction reports of the prior 2.40 firmware. The latest update features in-game XMB access and a Trophies accomplishments system.

Best Buy this week advertised a $299 Xbox 360 Pro SKU in an advanced circular due out on July 13. The Xbox 360 Pro currently retails for $349.99.

Additionally, Target Corp. is advertising a $299 Xbox 360 Pro and a free $25 gift card on July 13. The ad disclaimed limited quantities of the item.

Sales for Nintendo Co.'s Wii were behind Sony's PSP and the Nintendo DS in the latest Japan tally. The Wii ranked No. 3 in overall hardware sales.

Nintendo this week released a new wave of WiiWare and Virtual Console titles to Wii. New offerings include Spogs Racing and King of the Monsters.

Wii is not going anywhere. Fatal Frame 4 launching in Japan pretty soon, Kid Icaris, Punch Out, Guitar Hero 4, Crisis Day of Disaster, Animal Crossing, 1080 on wiiware, The Conduit, Pikmin 3, Skate It, Shaun White with balance board support, Star Wars TFU and many games not even announced by nintendo. Star Fox? F-Zero? A new IP like Disaster? who knows, one thing I know is the wii is killin and all you haters looking to bash it just keep on recyclin your sh#t you've been saying since the wii launced cause its here to stay.

-PSN got closer to XBL and is STILL free.
-MSFT is getting a "bit" scared and dropped their price.
-Hopefully people are starting to see the WII isn`t such a big deal.

Next week should be interesting, considering this week.

Nah, but i dont think the wii sales are going down i mean psp has sold great for a long while there and ds has sold like 2k behind the wii so i dont think this is going to lead somewhere...

personally i dont like my ps3 right now i bought it at launch day which was a huge mistake considering the price and the games at that time,
but the second half of 2008 is truly going to be the best for ps3 (if they keeep their release dates.

i also have a xbox360 and a wii, so far i have to say i have played these two the most (sry sony) but maybe that will change...

Thats your opinion but if it sucks so bad why do so many people buy it. Grandmas and soccer moms right? or Cause the people who give the games a try like it. Smash Bros, Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Legend of Zelda, Okami, RE4, are these not great games that many people like. Or do you fanboys like to fabricate sales and review scores too.
