PSP beats Wii and DS in Japan for June

The game hardware sales data for the June period in Japan (aka the five weeks to June 29) has been released, and Sony's PSP managed to outsell both the Wii and Nintendo DS, with sales of 274,131 units according to Famitsu publisher Enterbrain.

The market research firm said that Nintendo's lead with Wii is fading, as its lead on the PlayStation 3 narrowed to 1.7-to-1 in June, down significantly from its 6-to-1 lead in May. However, the PS3 did see the launch of Konami blockbuster Metal Gear Solid 4 in June, which had a lot to do with the buzz.

Wii managed sales of 235,990 units, PS3 managed 139,494, DS managed 195,714, and as usual, Microsoft's Xbox 360 trailed by a long margin with just 10,964 units.

Ya know.Im not a PS360 fanboy,between both 360 and PS3,im one that judges facts,and play games I like. With that said,Im not fond of nintendo.infact,I think they suck for misleading people with crap since the N64 ! Congrats sony for the psp.I dont ever regret owning one.and those new guys buying it,should kick themselves for not getting it sooner lol

"Misleading". How wonderful. Last I checked, N64 and GC were true powerhouses seeing how they were built, at least when compared to their competitors. What you see, isn't necessarily what you get in some cases. Nintendo did cater for "HC" crowd, but "HC" crowd didn't trust Ninty enough. Result? Wii. Blame yourselves, fools.

Why the f--k are they even comparing Wii and PSP yet again? They don't compete in the same category. Dimwits. If Wii is beating PS3 in sales, speak about that. Not if PSP is beating Wii in sales, since they aren't in the same league even.

PSP beating DS is newsworthy, though.

I do, and I scoffed at it. It's pointless to compare handhelds to home consoles that are attached to your TV. Handhelds are something you can take almost literally anywhere, consoles aren't.

Why can't people keep DS/PSP separated from X0/PS3/Wii is beyond me.

thats japanese numbers people..worldwide numbers show DS as the top selling handheld console n wii as the top leading home console,so worldwide numbers are more important than japanese ones..also most people in japan got a ds already, so why get another one..get a psp or a chocolate candy..
