Noel Gallagher blames violent games for Britain's knife crime problem

Oasis' Noel Gallagher has blamed violent videogames as one of the reasons for the knife crime problem among Britain's youth.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, the song writer said that violent games desensitise kids from crime, which is "really, really scary," he said.

"I was up in Liverpool for a week a couple of weeks ago and even on the news there it's every single night," said Gallagher.

Yeah because music, films and other social problems pay no part what so ever in knife crime at all.

/sarcasm.

1.1 - Soooo....
members of a band called Oasis, who are role models to millions of fans, yet go around getting drunk and beating up reporters doesn't have anything to do with with violent crime???

Ahhh come on. Noel, stick to playing the guitar and moaning about Jay-Z. Leave video games alone!!!

Maybe he's pissed because he can't master 'Through the fire and flames' on GH3!!!

My big question is, why haven't they shut down 'Stabby-Stab Knife Warehouse and Emporium'. Who's handing out the knives to everyone?

He has a point. I mean crime of any sort was totally un-heard of before the introduction of video games.

We all know Al Capone had a playstation when he was little and when he got stuck on Spyro, that was when he called his first hired hit. Crash Bandicoot was responsible for all the racketeering. It's the truth.

It just proves that gun control laws don't stop crime. If someone wants to commit a crime they're going to do it.

So america has a gun problem and europe has a knife problem? I'd much rather be shot than stabbed. Stabbing just LOOKS painful. :(

Being shot looks more painful. Have you seen Rambo IV?
