The should seriously consideredd reinvented it right now. Old ideas do not die hard. Bungie needs to come up with some kind of innovative IP for the PS3 and the 360 so that they will maximize their profits and sales revenue.

Halo 3 ended off with a brilliant story, i absolutely enjoyed every minute of halo 3's single player, however, that story needs to be left alone now, it was an amazing trilogy, but masterchiefs story needs to stop while its still great, and there doesnt need to be a true Halo 4, maybe some spin offs set in the halo universe but not a continuation of halo 3.

No. I don't want the Halo series to go down the path of Final Fantasy with Halo 7, 8, 21 etc. I have nothing against Final Fantasy- I just don't want the Halo franchise milked where we have a new Halo game every year/two years. Besides, Halo Wars is coming out soon as well as the project from Peter Jackson. I think we have enough Halo for now.

FF games don't come every year and each game is with diff. characters in diff. worlds. so there not milking the same character or the same game world. it's a diff. game every time.

but, i get what you are saying. really though,if a game is popular and people want more- i don't see the big problem with it. unless the quality of the games start to suffer. or if it's just "more of the same". but, i'll say this as well; in the case of halo; with a halo rts and halo chronicles due sometime in next year or 2......maybe ms should hold off on halo 4 for a while. may be too much halo bunched together?

What a daft question!

Lets face it, the stories daft anyway, so any way they can get another one out is good for me.

The original Halo was one of the best genre defining first person shooters, and having created such a liked franchise, MS owes it to its fans to keep developing it.

I'll admit to being a little underwhelmed by Halo 3, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't welcome another one with open arms! They are sure to improve it in all departments, and I'm sure we'd get the true next gen Halo game that I beleive the 360 deserves.

It's a shame that the best FPS on the machine right now is COD4. We need another Halo 4 to come and take the crown and become the difinitive 360 FPS experience! That's what Halo should be all about, and I'm looking foward to seeing it happen, as I'm sure it will.

I say yes to Halo 4...Only if Bungie makes it.

At the same time I would like to see something new from them.

Also they need a new graphics engine...Halo 3 looked OK but nothing mind blowing...now the Frostbite engine being used in Bad Company is awesome...Bungie needs something like that.

Either way I guess we will find out in a few weeks.

Me and my friend both have 360s, everyone was hyping about the Halo 3 , that he went to a shop and bought it, when he played it, he said it was really sh1t. Because it is.. its unrealistic, and everyone prefers to stick to a game thats in modern days.

Why would PS3 owners be desperate with an out-of-date game like Halo3 ?
Halo was good at the time of XBOX1 when there wasny many FPS games around.
But now as i said the title is OUT-OF-DATE. If we wanted to play that kind of FPS , we could play UT3 which is sh1t as well..

COD4 rules at the moment.. we will see what Killzone2 brings out, because i know that Resistance 2 wont be an ideal FPS because of the sensivity of the analog sticks, what i mean is that you cant aim properly, basically its inaccurate..

i stay away from 'realistic shooters' and loved UT for the fact that it's totally unrealistic, witha very very good formula for fun.

I understand why people go for boring old 'realistic' shooters, it's because they're scared of something outside their world or just lacking imagination.... or they can't use a weapon that isn't effectively 2 dimensional.

Gameplayer is one of the worst, im waiting on the confirmation of a release date for xbox 720 in 2009.

You know why IGN, Gamespot, and Gamespy don't compile articles like this? Cuz they know it's stupid and ridiculous.

However i believe much like Konami isn't likely to let MGS rest in peace or Squareenix with the Dragon Warrior's and Final Fantasy's. I think Bungie's Halo Series will continue to thrive in the form of direct games or side projects. But do Microsoft "NEED" Halo, not if they don't want too. You never know something could come up even bigger for them. No one knew the grand theft auto series or wii fit would be as big as they are today. Halo's popularity was questioned at first but once it debut, you couldn't find a moment of silence at all.

First post, better make it a good and honest one. Hate to rain on anyone's parade. My view has always been that halo is a bog standard fps wrapped in a sheet of ms hyped gold sheen. I enjoyed the first one, graphics were amazing and at the time it was an excellent game!!! I just don't think it has evolved enough over the years. The enemies are the same, guns are the same, gameplay is exactly the same. Although online death match is great. It also annoys me when people pitch a new fps on another console as the new halo, i mean halo wasn't that great to begin with. We should be saying more like, a new bioshock or perhaps cod4?

Bungie should be considered 2nd party now, like Insomniac is to Sony-sure, a Bungie game could go to the ps3, but it's highly doubtful considering their strong relationship with microsoft and their desire to make more halo games in the future (since microsoft owns the halo ip, they could only make it for an xbox)

and besides, if bungie did make a game for sony, microsoft would probably just re-purchase them to insure it never would happen again
