Call of Duty World at War: Trailer Released

Just hours ago a trailer was released for the fifth installment of the Call of Duty franchise. I am very surprised that Call of Duty is back to World War II. But I am very excited. Hopefully this game captures the intensity of Call of Duty 2. Looks like were done fighting the Germans and now fighting the Japanese. Good change from urban warfare to jungle warfare. Possibly some more brutal fighting. Do I smell flame throwers, bayonets, and katanas?
What I can't wrap my head around is the fact that Activism is going back to World War II and not going more into the future. Why not a Call of Duty in like the year 2200? No one really knows. But I personally think Activism made a good move. Here's why: They totally caught the industry by surprise. Who thought they would come back to their roots and show off the Pacific Theatre that has been barley made into a game. This game is going to hit big and hopefully we see more game footage as the time comes.

- Dense much? Personally I think this guy is retarded. Here's why: Everyone knew "Activism" (you mean Activision?) was taking COD back to WW2. And even that it was gonna be in the Pacific. They made it clear what their [failing] intentions were for the franchise after COD4 as soon as we unfortunately figured out that they were gonna be making the next installment. Idk if they're too stuck up or if they just aren't as bold as I.W. was with Modern Warfare, but they seriously do not care about the current interests the fans have with the series. No, instead they want to fail and create another war game surrounding a period that has been completely worn out in gaming. Big deal if it takes a new angle with WW2, it still shows that they aren't ready to take a real chance and make something really creative and unseen in gaming. Let's leave it up to I.W. next time around...if there is a next time around after this piece of crap.

Well, Im most definitely gonna rent this game. CoD4 was one of the greatest games in history and I don't think Im ready to put it down just after a year of playing it. Activism (hehe) is really turning this franchise into some of those worthless annual EA sports titles.

Yes this game does look intense. Now I've seen a lot of war movies, read, and studied World War II. Hopefully it turn out a little bit like "The Thin Red Line" and "Saving Private Ryan".

I already know its good, I'm pretty sure IW kept a close eye on Treyarch, making sure they don't mess up their rep. This could be one of the reasons why CODWaW uses an improved COD4 graphics engine...

All I know is COD5 is going to have everything I would have liked in COD4, complete with a better SP story. (The previews so far sound better than anything COD4 offered.)

Like SilentShark was saying about splintering wood and all that good stuff. This sort of setting could add a lot of diverse gameplay. Maybe trees could be burnt into flames. You could ruthlessly hack someone to bits? People bursting into flames? Maybe the blood from both fellow and enemy will flow in the pools of water throughout the islands? I would like people to keep on thinking of crazy stuff like this that would make this a sweet game!

I love WW2 games. Just as long as they stay pretty accurate. Their was a WW2 game by History Channel on the 360 awhile ago. VERY VERY accurate, unfortunately full of bugs. Hopefully Call of Duty can be close to the real battles.

some stuff looks good; flamethrowers, climbing trees to snipe, no nightvision (using flares instead), the katana instead of knife. hopefully there will also be a nice range of perks and weapons including proper trip wires/mines, molotovs, customizable camo, rat tunnels, mulitplayer maps on ships, dense jungle that wears away through fighting, some better physics and be able to use human shields with penalties for taking out your own man while trying to take out the hostage taker! Any other ideas?

XBOX 360 would get RRoD before seeing as much objects as in PS3.

The 360 is holding everything back, if 360 was a similar system to PS3 you would see much better games, but developers want to release both systems at the same time, so they spend the same amount of time on both systems.

Thats why exclusive titles make you drop your jaw to the fuking floor, a game like Heavy Rain 3 or Killzone 2. You pathetic DVD disc wont even be able to provide enough space for a good game like the next GTA.
