33 new MGS4 screens (not all in the Middle-East!) - CVG

33 new screenshots of Snake and Raiden doing their thing are out and they're not all in the dusty, grey Middle-Eastern environment we've seen a billion times already.

You can spot loads of cool features going on - see Snake in one shot using the SixAxis to control a small droid, or Snake dressed in the Altair (of Assassin's Creed fame) costume.

There even seems to be some sort of bike race going on in there.

Yeah Uncharted really was a high water mark for the PS3 but these screens look even better, albeit less vibrant. My only concern is that we don't always know which MGS4 screens are cut scenes and which are gameplay, so I'll reserve judgment until I can put them side by side.

1.5 - Cutscenes are in engine, but...
Oftentimes extra filters and depth of field are added to cutscenes, but are left out of actual gameplay to increase framerates. I'm not saying the game won't look great, just that there is a chance cutscenes will still look better than actual gameplay due to post processing.

This game is going to raise standards across the board! I think we can expect to see many game developers having to up their game because of the inevitable comparisons to Metal Gear. Great time to be a gamer!

3.1 - well never looked forward to Haze
but i just had a thought of buying it if it was good

since it is not good i will wait for MGS4. GTA4 was disappointing dsepite rave reviews.
I will play Uncharted and COD4 for the moment

3.2 - Glad to see...
...I was not the only one disappointed with GTAIV. Ignoring all the supposed graphical enhancements or weaknesses between the two versions, the improved characters the missions were still same ole, same ole.

The game simply did not draw me in and the multiplayer was just nasty. No real lobby system - you can tell it was the afterthought everyone says it was.

Already sold my copy of GTAIV and COD4. COD4 was brill but I had played it to death. My on-line kill/death ratio was around 4.09 (38,000+ kills) but the lobby system and the high number of under age players now on-line has ruined it for me.

MGS4 is where my focus is at right now...bring on June!!!!

I have to admit that lately PS3 games now-a-days are coming up with some really nice graphics...First it was Uncharted, then GT:Prologue, then this...After that it's just gonna be up-hill......(Killzone 2 anyone??)

8.1 - YEP!!!!
Not only Haze, but The orange Box too..If other developers can make superrior graphics like Uncharted, Gran Turismo, COD4, MGS4, Killzone2 etc, etc, Why cant the others??

I hate it when they Bad-mouth the architecture of the PS3. It just shows how dedicated the team is to making an over all great game

I live in middle east.. and I can say we have more than 24bit colours (16 million! ) in the environment..

we have flowers and birds like other regions
