News anchor's son cussed out on Xbox Live

Like many other young gamers around the world, the son of news anchor John Carlin of NBC affiliate WSLS 10 in Roanoke, Virginia, plays Halo 3 on Xbox Live.

Concerned about what Tyler is exposed to on Live, Carlin placed a microphone in his son's headset during Halo 3, capturing the following conversation.

first off, halo is rated M for Mature, why the hell are you letting your son play, second you cant moderate voice chat on XBL its too hard to place admins on matchmmaking games unless they are games were you can chose your server, like how warhawk's system works.

1. Halo 3 is rated M.

2. Every gamer knows online gaming (no matter what game it is) is prone to trash talk. Ignorant parents wake up and stop blaming other gamers or corporations.

3. If a gamer sucks, he deserves it! I'm tired of finishing among the top team members in Call of Duty 4 games, but still lose the round since some others go 6-15 and 5-18.

4. if you don't like the trash talk, mute people or disconnect the mic. Hearing chatter from the TV speakers is less noticeable than headphones.

5. The most annoying gamers are young kids. It would be great if online was restricted to 18+. Surprisingly, it seems like young gamers are worse than older gamers when it comes to trash talk and discriminatory remarks.

4.2 - You should really blame the developers
for developing a bad matchmaking algorithm considering there will always be beginner players. Not everyone spends hours a day playing games....

It's almost as if he's only making a big deal because of his image... Take Gta 4 for example, they cry about violence... but it's ok to kill aliens, and terrorist in Halo 3 or COD4??
